For the first 18 months under Eddie we went after another goal every time. Since then we have started trying to ”be smart” and it’s fucking frustrating. We give teams the initiative and here we are. Nervy last 30 mins. Fucking hell.

The thing is. Pope has let in so many poor goals this season. We really should’ve just stuck with Dubs. Also has a clanger in him of course but can at least pass the ball to the right player. Pope hasn’t been the same since his shoulder injury. Glue factory material unfortunately.

I think most of us expected us to have a go. To actually look like we had a semblance of a plan on how to come away with a point or three. This has been an absolute car crash.

I’m fuming at this performance. It’s all well and good blaming not signing (or being allowed to). We’ve been total dogshit since the 3rd minute. They could’ve played anyone in Marmoush role and he’d had three as well. Well and truly outclassed, outfought and outplayed by the most mediocre Man City team in 10 years. And there’s still an hour to play.

It would probably give us more of a chance if we could pass to our own players or not stumble on the ball in half promising positions. Or try and get the ball from them from time to time instead of standing around looking. I fucking hate how we approach this game.

Asensio and Felix are good players but they don’t really seem to be PL-ready in any way shape or form. Malen could be good I suppose and Rashford surely can only go one way. And them four will cost a bomb in wages.

Just to be clear - it’s stacked against us with PSR and RPT. But we’ve been utterly abject today at home again. We still have good players, we still have a good manager. But these types of performances are so fucking frustrating. We looked flat from the off today, pissing around with ball giving it away. To me we stood off them and played too low from the get go. And again we were too reactive - it was clear as day from min 46 what would happen. It’s pissing me off something rotten tbh.

We’re not making the chase for European places easy with these kinds of performances. Too many underwhelming performances at home against teams we really shouldn’t be losing to. We’re streaky as fuck which is nice as long as we’re winning but less so when we’re not.
