Aaron Hughes was generally a nailed-on starter, not a sub. And to be a good sub, you have to be somewhat competent. He's a terrible RB and just as bad at RW. Is there any evidence to suggest he can play somewhere else?

Can't believe he still gets a game in the premiership, has been found out on so many occasions it is unbelievable and he can't get away with the young lad learning bit anymore. Any central defender who consistently makes goal mistakes is a bad defender no matter how he plays for the remaining 85 minutes. He's been in the 'team of the week' about 5 times this season. He's a big part of why they tend to concede few goals.

Thought he was average. All i'm saying is that the facepalm (re: comments about Barton earlier in the season) was a bit daft. As i've said, i'm not taking anything away from his performance today, but he owes us that sort of display. Bar the Villa game and the Wolves assist, he's done nothing really of note for us since he came to this club. It's only the past couple of weeks that he's started to justify his price tag. You look as stupid as i'm sure you feel. Barton was brilliant for us under KK. As he has been whenever he's had a run in the team.
