Carroll has 4 in the championship this season in a team sitting first, Best has twice that figure in a mid-table side.

I'm not saying he's better than Beckford for one second, I honestly don't know if he is or not. But he's 3 years younger and more proven than Jermaine. It's very daft imo that the same posters writing him off completely want us to pay £3m for Beckford.

I've seen him play twice I think, (Pompey game last month and once earlier in the season) so I can't really comment tbh, he appeared to be good though. Genuine question: If he's inferior to 'every one of our current strikers', why does he have twice the league goals that Carroll does in a considerably lesser team?

None of our strikers (or most of our midfielders) are good enough in the long run, we just aren't going to lure premiership players here with Hughton as our manager and the implemented wage cap.
