Bridge is quality going forward and a very very solid defender. Always prefered him to Ashley Cole. Brown is so underrated is actually quite ridiculous Beye and Enrique along with Martins are my favourite players at the club but Beye is 30 and Enrique is still learning the english game, we need a couple of solid full-backs in the summer imo and we could do a hundred times worse than Bridge or Brown

Lets not confuse success with ability or let success and stage of performance detract from ability here whioch should always be the deciding factor in such debates, in my opinion anyway. Shearer was as good if not better than Batitistuta for example, and most certainly Eric Cantona who was good but world-class? All about opinions I suppose though... If you're talking pure, out and out centre forwards then Shearer will take some beating, worldwide. You talk some good stuff Coach HTT, but I can't believe someone said that about Cantona. You're being very kind As did England, although against Argentina at France 98 he was immense, and played far better than Batistuta from what I remember. When England went down a man, he took up a role in midfield and become almost a defensive player, he was outstanding in that match I thought and showed his true footballing sense in that he adapted to a different role and I don't even think it was a Hoddle tactic, I think he just took it upon himself using his savvy. Anyway he showed his class at Euro 96 and against a whole multitude of different defenders, some of the best the game had to offer.
