I hope when we go about getting a forward to replace Jonas and a CB to replace Colo we target players who can make an impact from set pieces. Carroll and a defender who wants to score the odd goal would be lovely.

I doubt he'll get injured on the plane, like. -

Can barely think of two games in which Tiote's presence is needed more than Saturday's and this. -
Really is tragic what this thread descends to.
-
If you're basing that on his games in the Premier League for us then no he shouldn't. He should if the criteria is being able to kick a football well. It's the height of negativity to consistently play Jonas instead of someone with genuine attacking talent.

More like 2+2=100.

A better manager too, tbh.

We topped the Championship? Not counting this season you pedant. Me neither. Playing in the Championship just 3 years ago surely should remind people we are not entitled to stay up merely because we are Newcastle United. But you already knew that. Of course. Yeah and I agree to an extent, you were just a season off with the time frame.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo194/TheCuteWoofer/Animated/Tumbleweed.gif Not on a wind-up. Think there is a decent chance he will keep them up. Based on? His managerial record and personality, mostly. A League One fascist and coward?

Aye, nowt wrong with Peter Reid.
-
Doubt it considering he's probably the only manager in the PL stupid enough to play him.

I think that's harsh, too. It depends on the extent to which it is 'effective'. If it was 'effective' in the context of purely staying up, I'd agree with your post. But in last season's case, it was 'effective' in the context of a Champions League push. I don't see how simply being rigid and disciplined (in the first half of the season) 'sucked the life' out of our players. We were actually pretty fluid towards the end - and it wasn't simply because of the personnel. Fair play but I am talking about Pardews insistence of using that tactic week in week out regardless of opposition. I am happy to see us playing more effectively once in a while but not every game, especially when we have players capable or doing far more. Constant negativity shows pardew has little faith in the players we have to beat other teams using attacking football. I can't believe players can't be affected by defeatist tactics every week regardless of the opposition. Case in point gouffran and sissokho.. Unrecognizable from their first two performances. Gouffran's being played horribly out of position to be fair to the lad. He cant beat players or create chances.

They all know the score, they're just too cowardly to come out and say it. Holt and Winter wanted Owen back in the England team a year ago.

Come on, now! In other words a magnificent 0-0. -
Might pull Wigan out of it, but it pulls Norwich right back into it as well imo. What's their run-in like? Not sure it matters. You could put a pub team out against Norwich at Carrow Road and they'd still try to keep it 0-0 for 89 minutes.

The best we can hope for is a dreadful waste of 2 hours. -
Abysmal couple of stats, like. Shame nobody's prepared to actually pull him on it.

I don't. Honestly, I remember Parker, Dyer and Jenas running into each other against Man City (ha, how ironic that is) in Souness' last game. Very ironic, considering Jenas played for Spurs at the time.
-
I'm guessing he was instructed to do that after going straight down the tunnel on the FT whistle against Wigan.
