Against Villa in his first season he seemed determined to nutmeg Schmeichel. Twice he hit it straight at him one-on-one when he should've scored. Tried it a third time (when anyone else would've just learnt and picked a side) and succeeded, scoring at the Gallowgate. Was brilliant.

Looks more one for the future than right now, anyway. Obviously ideally he'd come in straight away to push certain players further down the pecking order.
-
Do you mean better finishing? Bellamy's end product was superb. In 02-03 in particular he seemed to have a hand in more than half the goals we scored when he was on the pitch.
-
Obviously he's been woefully out of his depth in the last few months, culmitating in that unmitigated disaster on Saturday. As Cajun says, he's got a different task on his hands now.
-
I hope we do get rid of a fair few, tbh.

Marveaux operates much the same way as HBA in that he consistently cuts in from the outside. We can put him out there, but we all know he'll just be a "winger-in-name-only." Our wide forwards are meant to collapse to allow the fullbacks space to get forward anyway. I'm just not sure replacing Marveaux with Gouffran out wide will produce any drastic changes in what we're expecting from that position. Unless we're expecting Cisse to get 20 goals between now and May we need another proper forward in the team, not a midfielder badly out of position.

This is the team right here, the Colo issue notwithstanding.

I'm totally baffled as to why people keep putting Marveaux up there, like. He's been very effective throught the middle driving us forward from midfield, generally looks lost out wide, and isn't know for getting goals. Plus, when you look at the rest of the side it's absolutely beyond essential there's someone there to take the goal burden off Cisse. Our best bet for that by a mile is Gouffran.

Sissoko. Debuchy, Gouffran and MYM were proabbly needed more but so much so I'm just incredibly relieved they're here, not excited.
-
Dude, you know I love you but have you been drinking heavily for the past couple of days? Yesterday you were on aboot Colo being an immense captain.
-
He's much better than Sammy, Obertan and Jonas.

Everything I've seen of Marveaux suggests that's a bit like saying Santon will start above Tiote in some games. Completely different positions. True, except people were listing Marveaux wide in a 4-3-3. IMO he's better in midfield. Very much so. He's no wide forward.

What if they're s***? Is it Pardew's fault that Jonas has never been able to cross or that Shola is closer to bedridden than professional athlete? Of course Jonas has never been able to cross. He's right footed and constantly played on the left. I, like you and everyone else on here, have no f***ing idea if he crosses like Nobby Solano or Danny bloody Simpson until he's given an extended opportunity to demonstrate one way or the other. So yes, Pardew's fault. (And yes, I know he's played a game here or there on the right, I'm talking an extended period of time so a proper opinion could be formed) Incredibly, his crosses seem to be worse from his right foot.
-
Taylor and Colo would be, too. Shame Taylor's always injured. Taylor's much improved but he's by no means a perfect partner for Colo even on his best day.
-
He's the same as Shola, no burning desire to win football matches.
-
Wish those fucking wankers in the singing section would all go die in a fire. Singing the bloke's name every game probably convinces Pardew to keep him in the team.
-
Amdy Faye's a midfielder, apart from that a great post. And Abdoulaye Faye was in my opinion a decent defender. He was better than decent, to be fair.

Not what we need. Aye, right. From what I've seen, he's an out-and-out poacher. Not what we need. Back-up striker #1 Shola Ameobi suggests otherwise.
