  1. He's still essentially a poor substitute for a box-to-box player in that role.
  2. I've heard from a few people including one inside the club that Ba and Cisse don't get on at all.
  3. Not good news, but he has been starting for far too long.

    Alan Pardew

The movement from the midfield has been brainless and ineffective for as long as I can remember.

Trust me, you've never needed Cheick Tiote. Gosling's technically not quite what we'd hoped but he'll come good eventually.

Tiote's known by almost every football fan I've spoken too down here as 'that nutter who kicks people'. I found it and still find it absolutely staggering that he was being linked to Man Utd at any point during his NUFC career.
  7. You'd be putting emphasis on goals too if you supported a team who don't create clear chances and have very few natural finishers.

I agree with you in a way, but I'd represent my second country in a heartbeat (wasn't born there, not been back in years and no longer have close family there) mainly because I'd be extremely proud to do so, not because of wanting a piece of the spotlight.

There's another small portion who've fallen in love with our players (ironically the same ones the media link to bigger clubs) and massively overrate them - subsequently refusing to significantly blame anyone but Pardew when they perform poorly individually and collectively.

It's been mentioned by at least a couple on here today, and there's another 3 or 4 who you know fine well would be in favour.
  11. Dude, as Mick says, I'm not for one second advocating the long ball tactic. It's not something I'm totally against per se but it's almost criminally unsuitable for our current playing staff.
  12. Says who, by the way? Nolan was only ever a true goal threat when 2 strikers were on the pitch with him.
  13. Cabaye's the better player by a mile and the replacement was wonderful wonderful business, but if we're playing long ball stuff Cabaye's virtually a hindrance and Nolan would be ideal, frankly. Pains me to type those words but there you go.
  14. from.com. It seems like an impossible scenario now and I actually groan when we have a corner. Sadly for Robert read Cabaye; and for Shearer and Speed read Shola and Williamson.
  15. Nolan's just far more suited to that style of play. He's physically superior too.

Norwich are more enjoyable to watch than us? No.
  17. I think he's good enough for a team with two effective runners alongside him so he can afford to be fairly static for the periods of the game in which we need to unlock defences. Maybe Sissoko will facilitate that. Oh, and .

Ba in particular can barely play 65 minutes a week without looking like one of his lungs has just been removed.

    Papiss Cissé

Ben Arfa, Jonas, etc etc. Ben Arfa and Cisse have both proved they can be extremely effective players. Cabaye and Jonas on the other hand had anonymous/ineffective performances throughout last season. In fact, Jonas has been the weakest link in the midfield since the days of Hughton.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Why bother? We had 2 months of good football and great results with our best system last season.
  21. You can put it down to Pardew all you want, but unlike Cisse I have limited sympathy for Cabaye because I really don't think in either system he's a player that will ever really get a grip on games in this league.
