Based on recent games, one player I wouldn’t be against us testing the waters with an offer, Kelleher. Looks a very good goalkeeper, who’s strong with his feet.
This summer may be the limited window where he’s available for the right fee, and could be the long term keeper we need.
All depends on fee - Liverpool will take us to the cleanersFWIW I think we should put off a new keeper until the following season - assuming Dubs stays - bigger priorities elsewhere

Apparently Liverpool and Roma are fans too.
Pretty sure he speaks Italian - used to like him on Italian Football on BT - knew his stuffHe’s one of those intellectual types

Don’t think he’s as technical as Bruno but certainly has an engine, an all Brazilian midfield 3 would be interesting.
He has a bit of Bruno - Willock and Big Joe to his game -

I agree. I would sell one, not sure who though.
His first name starts with S, surname with L -

He's more of a box to box CM i think. Not your typical deep laying DM.
Plays on the right of a 3 - but can also play 6Doesn’t go missing in games

If we do get Ederson, then how do we look next season? Doesn't seem to fit the profile we need?
He 100% suits our profile - in the current set up he plays on the right of midfield - essentially is the Longstaff upgrade we crave - can play as a 6 or alongside Tonali in a 2 - you can play Big Joe as LWF - there is so much flexibilityI want 5 midfielders competing - Bruno - Tonali - Big Joe - Willock - Ederson with Miley and Anderson continuing their development and coming in and out - even bigger bonus if we qualify for Europe
There’s no time for sentiment - I don’t want Longstaff as 5th choice - sell him and move on

Exactly this. Maybe Sesko for David but otherwise this will take us up to the level to compete for top 4.
Not sure we will sell Longstaff as he is one of a few homegrown players that is over 21 which helps with European competitions
If we want to compete high up then the likes of Longstaff are surplus to requirements in the summer - doesn’t cut it -

RW and LB are the two positions where the right signing could completely transform the team. My preference between the two is the best RW option money can buy, ideally someone who can be a backup striker also.
Striker and CB need succession planning / young depth.
CM is interesting because with no outgoings we have enough bodies, but the mix feels a little off to me. It will be interesting to see what we do.
And we really need a backup GK that plays similarly to Pope.
ScalviniEderson
Kubo
J David
(L Kelly free - Minteh recall)
Depending on L Hall situation - if we send him back, get Leif Davis
Out - Lascelles - Targett - Longstaff - Wilson - Almiron - Dummett - Ritchie

The Dutch league is a difficult one to take much from I think. Kezman, Babel etc, and probably even more so these days, but everything I've seen of Minteh has looked very promising.
The good thing about the Dutch is that they pride themselves in their wing play - so was a fantastic move for Minteh - got to play CL - EL and AFCON all in one season -

I’d be happy if the club try and pursue deals for Lloyd Kelly and Tosin Adarabioyo on frees. That would give us a lot of flexibility to use our summer budget to strengthen elsewhere in midfield and attack.
I was thinking L Kelly and L Davis for the left - then spend big on an elite CB

Anyone watching/watched the match?
Dis Bakayoko play? Was he any good?

What’s his best position ?
LM or LWF - technically he’s very good - really tidy footballer - so much going for him if he stays clear of injuries - him and Miley have been 2 class promotions from the Academy
If we are desperate he can be makeshift forward

Kubo is not one of the guys I have really watched that much, but he seems to always be spoken highly of and is highly rated, and commercially it would be a big move for sure, like @Whitley mag mentioned.
There's definitely some really interesting players for that right side and so hopefully we get it right.
His game is very similar to Messi when he was on the RW - I mean Leo is, Leo, but the approach is very similar - he has an eye for a pass and for a little guy packs some power in his shots - seems really intelligent in his play -

So Neto has been going out in both matches we have played them. Turning into a no from me. Cant deal with another on off player.
I haven’t looked at his injury record but him and Olise seem very prone to muscular injuries - won’t suit our press -

Yep - all you said is that there were some rumours. He’s a quality player - there’s plenty of RWs to chose from - I personally think Kubo is the best of the lot
Kubo - Bakayoko - Cherki - Neto - Olise - (Guy from Lille)

Ederson looks the part hoping it’s not dependent on Joelinton leaving.
Ederson is a cross between Bruno, Joelinton and Willock, essentially what Longstaff should be.He’s strong, quick, not afraid to put a tackle in, canny passer and has an eye for a goal - the final piece in our midfield jigsaw, you replace Longstaff with him then you have a strong 5 in Tonali, Bruno, Joe, Joe and Ederson with Anderson and Miley developing nicely in the background - ai really do hope we sign him

Only thing that seemed to stick out was longstaff often stood with a finger up his nose.
Very late in the game Bruno spun and passed it to him, expecting a quick 1-2 - he (Longstaff passed it back) - could see Bruno getting frustrated with him -

Great result. We need a player similar to Willock in summer.
Ederson - covers all our midfielders

Imagine having him and Miley coming through together - fkn Ashley era manReally hope things like this are in the past - we potentially have a goldmine of talent in the NE

He has had a few issues with injuries but would be an improvement on Burn in almost every attribute in the left/centre back role.
Yeah totally agree - him and Leif Davis would be a good pair to have on the left - allowing us to spend big on a elite CB -

I’ll say this again, Nico Williams is the dream winger signing for me.
Nico is fantasticWhilst we are talking about La Liga wingers - Kubo is another I would love to sign

Been a big fan of Wilson. Big player for this club and everything, but im fed up with the injuries. Sick of it.
I’d get Jonathan David to replace him -
The positioning of Longstaff is dreadful - so many times he drifts into a position where no one can pass him the ball
