Our revenue is increasing, our ambition remains the same. I’m not even talking about city or what they did as it isn’t relevant. (I’m not even sure how long it took them to win a league after the takeover?). The point is the plan the owners have laid out is challenging (not winning) titles in 5 years. If we are competing to conference league come this time next season I’m sure alarm bells will be ringing as it means we are behind.
Thing with Man City was that they essentially had a blank cheque - we don’t and have to comply with FFP -

It’s still a terrible performance though. We could’ve lost by 5 or 6 and could not complain.
It’s the lack of learningTonight has been embarrassing - we turned up and played a style to suit the home team

Brainless tactics

That was a pen

Our players can’t even make a simple 5 yard pass

Just give them the ball back in the corner, why not
Our ability to keep the ball is truly shocking

Again countered from a shite set piece

This should be the end of Burn
Howe to blame for playing him
-
Whats the difference between that Diaz pen award and the Nunez 1v1 - dare I say it but the contact on Botman fromNunez was far worse

We are all over the place

Morgan Whittaker should be la great pickup for someone - I’d take him as a 3rd choice striker who can play RW

Paulinha, Olise and Gibbs-White please.
Paulinha - think we can go abroad and get a quality 6 for a 3rd of the price Fulham would want

Morgan Whittaker at Plymouth, similar to Ollie Watkins career path, young British hardworking and improving, also cheap so very realistic
As a 3rd choice striker I don’t mind him - there is also Jonathan RoweWould love to have Olise here - would take us to a whole new level
Olise and Mbuemo are the 2 I want - unrealistic but can only dream

De Gea on a free, Phillips on loan and Minteh recalled would be the cheapest way to inject life back into our season. Really, no excuses not to get at least that done. I don't really want to bring minteh back, especially if he's off to acon anyway, but if money is tight and we don't want to commit, then something needs doing.
We aren’t recalling Minteh back - the whole point loaning him was to gain a years worth of experience - I agree that RW is a priority position though - We won’t see Minteh coming back -

This cunt reliable?
Is he not on loan from Arsenal - plus he isn’t the type of player we need -

What's peoples thoughts of Gallagher?
Was never a big fan until recently, but have been fairly impressed by him of late. Think he'd be a pretty decent improvement on that specific 'Longstaff' right sides no 8 role
Though similar to all of our midfielders other than Bruno, his best traits seem to be around workrate and stamina... Think we have enough of those and not enough technical qualitily!
No for me - not the profile of player we need -

Is Raphinha available?
Don’t think so - at a push maybe Ferran…. Can’t see either leaving BarcaAs a young forward - Jonathan Rowe from Norwich - 20 years old - plays all 3 positions - very two footed - technically really good

Geordie riquelme
Riquelme under Pep at Barca would have been next level -

My occasionally sage ITK contact tells me we’re about to sign Timo Werner.
Apparently Emery and Monchi have done huge in depth analysis and concluded they want him.
Fine by me.
Monchi is good at resurrecting careers - did similar things at Sevilla (when the bought a struggling Rakitic from Germany)He’s good cover for Watkins too - seems to have played every single game this season

Jean-Clair Todibo
Leny Yoro
Manu Kone
Youssouf Fofana
Noni Madueke
Matias Soule
Scalvini (20 (incredibly versatile - right sided CB but can play all 4 positions at the back and at 6) reads the game brilliantly - good with the ballFofana (24) - literally the ideal 6 - technically superb - quick, strong - has a presence similar to the late Tiote but a far better footballer
Johan Bakayoko (20) - RW - the number 1 choice - quick - eye for a pass - superb shot

The team is so predictable.........you know exactly what we're going to do when we win the ball. We lack pace and ideas. Confidence has dropped.
Why must Trippier take all the corners and free kicks?
If he turns this around........he'll deserve a knighthood.
Crazy how many of Trippiers poor deliveries lead to counters -
Not an advocate of sacking him - let him learn from this season - this season he’s been on secondment - this is what we want our future to be, can you cope with the demands Eddie? Let him go away, learn from it and come back a more rounded and battle hardened manager

I actually thought it was the midfield that was the issue, they offered little protection and that them triggered the defence to be all over the place.
A number 6 is absolute must for us going forward
This and the ability to play a single or double pivot based on the opposition - we have a very good core of midfielders in Bruno - Miley - Tonali - Joelinton - Willock, the lack of genuine 6 is an issue and has cost us this season when we have looked fatigued.Added to this it would help protect the back line from counters

He’s either a substitute from next season or sold to generate FFP wiggle room. A team with aspirations to consistently be a Top 4/6 side doesn’t have Miggy as their primary RW. He’s bearing the brunt of no options in his position but as a winger I’d expect more than 6 assists over the 130 odd games he’s played for us. As an example:
Solano in 2001/02 - 37 games, 7 goals and 9 assists
Solano in 2002/03 - 31 games, 7 goals and 6 assists
Robert in 2001/02 - 36 games, 8 goals and 11 assists
Robert in 2002/03 - 27 games, 5 goals and 7 assists
That’s the level of productivity we need to aspire to from wingers if we’re serious about being a consistent European places force.
I definitely think we will get that from the left eventually with Barnes and Gordon (throw in Joes and Anderson as Wilcards)The right we definitely don’t - only have Miggy and Murphy - you can add Gordon when we have everyone fit - however a winger in necessary and a forward who can drift to the left - I am all for Bakayoko and Mbuemo

We won’t be signing Godfrey - I am 100% convinced - he’s totally lost his way
