Drury drives me up the wall - hate listening to him

Modern day Denis Irwin.
I dunno - there’s a bit of Stuart Pearce about him (don’t know why I think that - maybe it’s the way he passes it - all neat and tidy) -

Mitchell will have other irons in the fire, DCL does not match the profile of players we are looking for, I'd rather give Osula more minutes
24 and under is Mitchell’s policy - which is what we need as the squad is a bit old in places

The double Joe combo with Hall is so sexy

That’s like the old Newcastle I loved watching

A former Toon legend can lead his side to their first title in 18 years tonight!
Who? -
J David
Mbuemo
Arda Guler
and we are cooking

DCL has been awful this season and last. Rather have Osulu.
My rationale is that we replace all 3 of Wilson - Miggy and Murphy in the summerMbuemo is the no:1 signing for me - the hybrid forward (right mainly, but can easily cover 9)
We then sign a winger - linked with Tom Fellows - I’d rather be ambitious and go for Arda Guler
Then on the basis you are getting nothing for Wilson - you go for J David (DCL as your back up)

Guler on loan with option to buy dream signing. A window is opening to sign him, and some club going to be lucky.
Defence we can get through this season by just shoring things up, and adding genuine quality that pushes teams back in fear will help too (and ball retention higher up the pitch).
I mean if we can somehow grab Guler AND Mbeumo that would be insaneThere’s an opportunity there also to mitigate the loss of Wilson if we can secure a Bosman CF (J David or even someone like a DCL (with the comfort that we have Mbeumo and Osula to cover as well)
(a bit over ambitious I know)

Ah that’s a great shout - it’s that lazy style running which is reminiscent -
Can see why we boycotted the Balon d”or ceremony this week - criminal he didn’t win

Are the semis still 2 legs or is that getting scrapped?
One leg apparently -

Well, if it is Amorim, and he still fucks up, it will be even more funnier and hillarious. You can bring in any promising foreign coach, but the PL is something entirely different to what they would have experienced previously.
and if he does fail, guess who Gary Neville will still blame?
They (ex players) have too much of a voice imo (long may it continue) - Don’t see G Neville piping up about what his mate has done to Valencia -
Play Tonali and Big Joe in the double pivot and free up Bruno

We used to have our left back function as a 3rd centreback when attacking, but with a more attacking minded left back (which I think is a necessary evolution of tactics), the lack of a pure defensive midfielder is more apparent. Trying to find a new centreback to play as a left back is not a long term solution imo. It doesn't give us a good balance when attacking.
With 2 natural attacking full backs, you can’t play a flat 3 in midfield, especially when both your centre backs are slow, it leaves you defensively exposed - you should then really compensate that by playing 2 in the pivot - giving your 2 CBs protection allowing 1 fullback at least to always roam with the other inverting if needed or keeping position - its a huge tactical floor as we seem to have no flow within the team -

He isn't though. He's played the same system for three years whether it's working or not, we rarely change tactics or have a plan B.
Howe has a lot of strengths in terms of coaching and getting the best out of players, but tactics and systems have never been what he was known for.
In fairness there were 3 occasions when he played Anderson or Big Joe as left wing backs (Spurs etc) -

Tonali is a bit of an enigma for me, want to love him and he seems capable of doing it all but still feels like he might be causing more problems than he's solving
He’s a 2 in a 4231 - a hugely talented player - Eddie hasn’t got a freakin clue what to do with him - says more about Eddie than Tonali -

Not for me, he needs a January transfer window and then till the end of the season.
I suppose it’s Europe or be sacked end of seasonDon’t think he will be here next season

Great pass Longtwat

Of course Tonali is subbed - I don’t for a second believe he was a Howe signing alongside the likes of Botman, Bruno and Isak

They often talk on OTC about the Barca job being exhausting if you are an actual Catalan as you are seen as the de facto leader of the Catalan independence movement.
Cited it as one of the reasons why Pep ultimately left as he just wanted to manage and not have to deal with the politics. Flick as someone completely unassociated with that can focus on the football.
Xavi won the league, which seems to get forgotten.
Yep - Xavi looked drained towards the end - it’s a really tough jobFlick seems like a cool customer who might be able to guide this talented crop the right way
