  1. I know a few people on here say we are well stocked for midfielders, the reality is that we aren’t (that’s just my own view) - we are still 1 short - ideally a mix between Bruno and Tonali - For me this could be the player that elevates us to a higher level

We won’t get Barrella - but that’s the sort of profile I would love - how many are out there? Can we buy and mould someone?

I do think in the winter/summer we will buy a CB - CM and an all round attacker, plus Minteh - then we are seriously cooking

Because of that run of games and the injuries we can't even train properly man.

"Train as we play" our very DNA, to use an annoying popular phrase. This team, squad and coaches, have delivered time and time again. Shame on the moaners

We had to use Man U away to give Longstaff and Wilson a bit of training - I remember post match Wilson getting another 20-30 mins in

    Perspective

Show me a team in Europe that’s had a run like that in the first 3 months in addition to a long list of injuries

It’s insane - I can’t ask of anything more from our guys - left it all out there

Put it this way, if we played Dortmund on Saturday how would we have done? Had we gotten a chance to have Botman, Isak, Barnes and Tonali would it be better? We’re reeling right now because our thin squad is even thinner. Add to that we’re playing a seasoned side in CL and honestly think we’ve 100% not looked ourselves in both matches.

Thats gotta be why Eddie is down. Hes disappointed and upset. His coaching can only go so far but he’s not had his full team or his game changers to battle Dortmund. He had his best striker v Paris tho.

Pretty much my feeling on this - we are very inexperienced at this level - we’ve played league cup - PL - CL in the space of 7 days - physically tough matches - next to no preparation - lack of selection consistency due to injuries

It’s November and we’ve already played

    Man C x2

    Dortmund x2

    PSG

    AC Milan

    Arsenal

    Liverpool

    Man Utd

    Aston Villa

    Brighton

    West Ham

    all teams in Europe

Give it 12-18 months when we have the depth and experience we will be better for this experience

If haaland and Alvarez get injured I’m pretty certain City would find some £80m kid in their academy to fit it. Not sure anyone else has that option though,

They won the title with no forward

Do many teams have 3 senior central strikers?

Genuine question I can't think of many in the prem

No, Liverpool have attackers who can play all 3 positions

    Nunez - Diaz - Gakpo - Jota - Salah

Has he started a match and not been our best player in the game yet?

I'd lean towards starting him at RB and Trippier LB from now on tbh.

Play Tino LB and Trippier RB for me - no point playing Tripps LB when he looks so uncomfortable

What a player, man. Think he'll do just fine at left back on the weekend, just so talented

Said it a few times, he reminds me so much of Zanetti (obviously nowhere near that level but the style is so similar)

Just realized we have seven games in December, which means you have eight . Seems bonkers.

The Xmas fixtures are pure overkill imo - don’t need to have so many - save 1 for Jan at the very least

Think the internationals in Oct/Nov come at a poor time - creates a backlog

We could use Miley against Bournemouth but if he isnt ready maybe Ritchie will have to play and put Joe, Joe and Longstaff in the MF.

I’ve seen Tino play in CM before - he’s isn’t that bad - got the technical ability to play the odd match if we are desperate

Goes to show the depth is decent - 9 first team players out injured and yet still a decent top half side - anyone would miss 9 first teamers - particularly key players like Botman, Tonali, Burn and Isak

    Pope, Dubravka, Karius, Gillespie

    Trippier, Livramento, Krafth

    Lascelles, Schar, Dummett, (Krafth)

    Hall, (Dummett, Trippier, Ritchie)

    Bruno, Longstaff, Joelinton, Willock, Miley

    Almiron, Gordon, Ritchie (Joelinton)

    Wilson (Gordon)

Defensively we are ok I suppose in so much as we at least have some form of cover in Tino - Hall - Krafth and Dummett

The 2 week break may be a blessing in terms of physical recovery - at some point in Dec you feel that Hall/Krafth/Dummett may need to start a match or two - who knows when Botman is back

Midfield/Upfront - this is going to tough - Basically Bruno/Joe/Joe and Longstaff with Miley and Ritchie

Physically Gordon and Miggy worry me - we may see them rotated with the Joes and Isak come Dec

This is where EH earns his money - it’s such a brutal schedule in Dec

He’s got a high potential, and he needs more playtime at this age to reach that. Now that Botman seems to be out for a long time, is it time to move Burn to a central defender and start playing this lad as an LB?

Think I a more comfortable with the current version of Lascelles playing CB - Burn tends to overpress at times and leaves the occasional gap in behind

I'm typing this as someone who isn't a professional sportsman, but I've had numerous dislocations (I have a condition, don't ask) to the point that they don't even really hurt anymore. Murphy won't be risked until he's healed, but just because he's done it once doesn't mean he's at any more risk of it happening again if it's treated right (which it will be).

    He'll be fine.

You might have something similar to Ollie Pope (the cricketer) his shoulder seems to pop out a lot too

Could always try Tino in that DM role after the premature ending of the Targett experiment.

Looks like he's got the engine and an eye for a ball. Schar-esque.

Played there before has Tino - so it’s not unfamiliar

By the looks of it he’s more versatile than Hall - but is a few years older than him and slightly more experienced
