Aye, our U21s are in the second division, although I doubt there's a huge gap. In previous years, some of the bigger clubs prefered friendlies and youth tournaments in europe instead of participation in the U21 league. Seems like that's not fashionable anymore.

I'm happy enough with the performance, we can't win every game, not with this team at least. While Longstaff and Wood's shortcomings are nothing new, such continued lack of conviction in front of goal is very disappointing, especially in a striker. It felt like Trippier had countless opportunities from set pieces but I remember from my short playing career how much more difficult I found it to attack crosses in such conditions. Hopefully we have enough energy left to give Arsenal a game, although I think they'll have too much for us. Still, what an year we had! Thank you Eddie, the boys, the owners, the fans, every NUFC soul! More of the same next year and let's hope for a healthy year and also peace in Ukraine.

I watched Thuram several times for BMG when we were first linked 2-3 years ago.. I thought he was fast and powerful with good work rate but very limited technically - both ball control and shooting. Having watched him at the WC and youtube - seems to have evolved into a more complete player now but still think he is a more suited to being played as central striker rather than on the wing. Would be a good deal for the low price, probably he'd fit in with the wage structure too. Doubt we'll get him though, there's too many clubs interested.

Aye, he's an amazing defender. 1.95m fighter CB, they call him 'the mountain' in Italy but he's fast and mobile and quite good with his feet too. Also looks a bit like Thomas Shelby. Has been at Fiorentina for five years now and signed a new 5 year deal with no release clauses at the start of the season, guess the guy likes it there.

I was defending him a lot last season but he continues to play within himself and shows an amazing lack of confidence in front of goal for someone with his goal return from previous years (albeit at a lower level mostly) Before we signed him I regarded him purely as a poacher type striker - ineffective and not involved in build up play but clinical in front of goal. Somehow he has turned into the opposite. I'm not even joking - Eddie should convert him to a midfield 'destroyer', back up to Joelinton. Would add more to the team.

7/10 but I'm not complaining in any way. I have full confidence in Eddie and the owners. I've mentioned many times in the summer that I expected a bigger outlay from PIF and to basically join in the mockery of FFP. Seems like we chose to play by the rules instead and stuck to our principles, which is good for the long term.

I'm a fan of Dubravka and until this season's games I even rated him slightly above Pope. Turns out I was very wrong, cause Pope is much more commanding and has already shown amazing reflexes. With that said, Dubs has shown signs that he's past his best - mainly the injuries. So I have no problem with the rumoured fee and his desire to move there. But he's never displacing De Gea. Not because of the Spaniard's class and reliability but cause of his rumoured 400.000 salary - this makes him both undroppable and unsalable. So good luck to Dubs in the few games that he'll feature in.

Not that I've seen a lot of João Pedro but I rate him much higher than Sarr and Dennis just cause he's more elegant with the ball at his feet. Imo, we're looking at him primary as a RW option. As already said though, we probably should've went in earlier to get a cheaper deal.. Still, think it could be a good addition.
