hahah listening now, you're spot on

The club have very extensive weekly data on ticket demand, ballot participations, age groups, trends etc.. so there's no doubt that the final figure would be carefully considered. I guess there will be a lot more hospitality options, I think there's actual demand for it.

yesssss lads!! What a team! WARRIORS! Imperious DAN BURN!! LEGENDARY EDDIE HOWE!!!.. it was so emotional! so perfect... Love you all!
-
Waugh is seemingly joining the team in blowing shit out of proportion with today's article, or at least the headline.. can't be bothered to read the whole thing. I think without Amanda/Mehrdad expertly feeding first hand info to the lot, some of these guys might feel a bit bitter now. Must be a bit shit if your job is to exclusively cover NUFC and your "sources" fail to spot the FFP hole in June, the transfers, Amanda's departure, Mitchell's arrival.. The press conference room seems to have been moved away from the training ground too. I'm sure the nosy ones like Hope and Edwards hate that
-
He said it in the usual calm assured Eddie manner. (No) Hope continues shit stirring

You should introduce yourself with the forum nickname, he will be familiar

Might be wrong but in one of the clips in preseason the players were warming up for the fitness work with some strange yoga moves led by a woman (not shown) with a loud voice. Haven't seen that before in footage. Sounds like the type of cringey thing a new guy would do in his position Also Dan Hodges was head of performance before Bunce arriving as a director. Hodges has been with Eddie and JT from the start at Bournemouth so they're probably very close. Physical performance and pushing the players hard is key to Eddie's style, so imo that's another thing that provoked the 'Germany interview'. But listening to Eddie, Bunce and Mitchell since then it's fucking clear that there's no drama, they'll just have to be professional and find a way to work together for the benefit of the team. Let's see what they do in the future. If there's even a hint of a lack of a plan, OCD Eddie will notify us at the first opportunity. oh and Craig Hope can fuck off with that doom mongering shite - he writes as if this is still Ashley's circus.. Nowadays there's a culture of professionalism, togetherness and motivation (at least around the first team) that puts to shame most PL clubs. Of all people he should know that, this summer has shown him up, clueless about transfers, clueless about the FFP hole in June, clueless about Amanda's exit, clueless about Mitchell's arrival.. Luke is the same, the Athletic lads didn't do much better either.. Waugh repeating we're interested in Bowen all summer, Tapsoba being plan B etc...

Imo, our transfer strategy "Guehi or nothing" is not due to limitations in the scouting setup per se. I've already posted it several times but with Ashworth and Amanda's exits coinciding basically Eddie Howe remained the only influential voice in the old transfer committee. They were the people capable of the huge money decisions. We've seen how influential Amanda was in Gordon's transfer on the TV series.. So the whole £70mil responsibility suddenly fell on Eddie's shoulders. He knows that expensive failures can bring a lot of pressure, noise and negative emotion around the club. Character is a big thing for Eddie and I think it's hard for him to research that in detail with foreign players... I think he simply decided to play it as safe as he could with the transfer budget.
-
Nee way, we're not there at all. Eddie is still the heartbeat of everything, he has hired more than 30 staff around the first team. His position is still key and influential. They'll work as a team and they'll be professional like every other fucker on earth does daily in his job. Anything else will be completely amateurish and we're not that club anymore.
-
It's a bit harsh but I know Eddie, I have watched every second of every immaculate interview he has done while here. That was Eddie Howe's version of a nervous breakdown
-
I wouldn't read too much in Mitchell and Eddie's words in terms of their relationship. People are rarely honest discussing such things with friends, nevermind the media.. and it's early days, we'll see Mitchell's input in the future. There probably will be frictions, but I'm sure they're both professional enough to make it work. After Eddie's primadona outburst in Germany, Mitchell was entitled to a bit of media power play too. He's Eddie's boss after all. Don't think he said anything too harsh tbh.. The repeated "He's clever enough to know.. " and the scouting setup not being "fit for purpose" seem like the highlights. Which is nothing for several hours in front of the doom mongers Hope and Edwards. Let's see how Mitchell remodels the recruitment and scouting. It's easy to criticise though.. let's not forget that the same transfer team brought us Bruno, Isak, Gordon, Trips.. All in all, I'm optimistic.. Mitchell said things I wanted to hear and I think he'd be a good foil for Eddie's limitations.
-
Watching him in the friendlies I'm of the opinion that the U21s league could actually be his level for now. Think I posted here at the time about his inadequate off the ball positioning, runs etc.. so won't repeat myself but I think he'll struggle even in the National League.
-
Disagree. He acted like somebody who's not arsed if he'll join Eddie's warriors, if anything I get the usual feeling he probably doesn't want to leave London. Sky gave him a perfect opportunity to force a move, he could've just said a couple of words that would've weakened Parish' stance if he was really motivated to play for Newcastle. I'm not talking forfeiting his loyalty bonus but you know tweet something, say a word, like every other departing player does these days. There's total player power in terms of transfers. In that interview he basically committed himself to Crystal Palace (ffs) while we had already made an offer well above of what his ability commands. He must realise he's not a £70mil player. If we had signed him for that, the pricetag and expectations alone would've crushed him. fuck that guy
-
There's only one generational talent and it's Mark Guehi!
-
My guess is that the wife and kids have probably remained in Newcastle and Trips would like to live a little after the breakup.. preferably without the whole city talking every time he shags a bird.. Eddie and Trips are close, so I think we'll let him go if he really wants to go to Turkey.
-
Elanga has improved a lot since his headless dribbles at Man U.. similarly to Noni Madueke, he seems on a major upward trajectory.. plays with confidence, he's been extremely good the last year.. probably Forest's best player, alongside MGW
-
Nah, think his high reputation is mostly from his Southampton/Spurs days. At RB his role seemed to be a touch removed from the sporting side and he was promoted after his first year to 'global coordinator', which seems one of the most sought out executive jobs in football. At Monaco he sold players for a lot of money but he left a worse side than when he arrived. Don't think he signed a single player that has been a big success in his time there. But that might not necessarily be his fault.. working for an oligarch has its specifics..
-
The insults start from page 30, but we shouldn't read TOO MUCH in the Monaco fans' reaction. Although in France presidents/directors are more often in the media spotlight, it's still hard to judge a football director's work as the club's strategic vision was likely not dictated by him. He was brought in by dodgy mega-oligarch Rybolovlev, seemingly with the idea of making large profits on several younger talents they had. So Mitchell did well on that front at least. As far as his involvement with us, I feel that there has been an agreement upon his arrival (probably after Eddie's germany interview) that we should focus on the transfer targets, already identified by Eddie, JT, Nickson and A.Howe. So I wouldn't blame him yet. We'll have to judge the new structure in future windows. One of my worries, when Mitchell arrived was how he was linked for years with Man Utd, even before Radcliff. They seemed desperate for a good football director, he's a Manc, he was available, yet they didn't sign him.
-
Has anybody posted the Paul Mitchell thread on the Monaco forum? Contains 200 pages of creative french insults.. https://asmforum.net/index.php?/topic/2379-paul-mitchell/page/226/#comments "I have never seen this level of bullshit and I've been following the team since '89."
-
It doesn't though but there are other leagues with open windows
-
Nah, it never is. Eddie is FLAWLESS anyway and the questions are not that hard-hitting, it's the local press after all.. timeEd put all their analysis, inside info, club/agent contacts to shame with a single post a month ago, which imo explains our behaviour during the whole window.
-
It was broadcasted live through the app (which kept crashing) Will be uploaded to youtube in a few hours.
-
Very hard press conference, must watch for anybody worried about the failure this window.

God I love listening to Eddie. Full support from me - I know he tried his best in a very challenging situation..
