Criticising Howe is fine, genuinely, if it's actually well-reasoned and thought out. I find the concept that so many of our issues are really obvious and easily solved to be complete nonsense though and based on a completely outdated view of football. It's so much more complex now in terms of the sheer amount of data available on players form, fitness, conditioning etc. that the management team will have access to and your man at a keyboard will not, than it even was 10 years ago. The "Howe should just do X, it's so obvious" crowd are living in the past tbh. If it was that simple, we would have done it. Either you think Howe is an idiot who is missing what everyone else can all see, or the decisions are a bit more complex than you appreciate. Any "obvious" decision to fix problem X will have a knock-on effect on Y, but there seems to be zero recognition of that, or of the fact that if the management team aren't making that "obvious" decision there is probably a pretty fucking good reason why not. Almost every decision Howe makes is going to have to be an educated gamble, nothing is certain in football. If the solutions were such sure things then we obviously would've enacted them. If we haven't, it's probably not because Howe is thick, it just might be that there are a million other factors going into that decision which all have a weight.

Must be nice to live in such a simple world where "see problem, enact solution" without having to consider any knock-on effects or interdependencies is an option. I can understand why you're so frustrated when you think football management is so basic, must be infuriating to see anything go against us when it's all so obvious.

People's need to twist an absolute classic of a comeback into the most negative view of it is wild like. Football is meant to be enjoyable, especially when you win it like that Not even to mention the fact that Howe acknowledged it wasn't the right call in hindsight and adjusted accordingly. But of course the narrative among some is that he doesn't learn, so maybe we imagined that

One of my favourite moments looking back was when Gordon got his second yellow and the whole stadium basically said fuck you to the ref and gave him a standing ovation off.

I thought he did well to muscle him off the ball personally, didn't think it was a foul. Kudus went down easily but he had been all game
-
Yep, absolute screamer, was behind the goal. Gutted he never made it after that

Third! Arsenal in 2004 (0-1) and Wigan in 2012 (3-0). So 2-1 wins to losses so far

Aw thanks lads have had a cracking day, the match obviously being absolutely immense to see live, but also exploring the city. Managed to check out some of the exhibitions at the Baltic this afternoon, see the famous bridges and just wander about what's a really pretty city. Atmosphere has been great, walking down the hill away from the stadium with the crowd after the game was brilliant, was grinning ear to ear, that'll stay with me for a long time

The old boy next to me (who I ended up hugging in the chaos after Barnes goal) was telling me about the Dutch lads who'd spent £2000 all in to get here. Class worth it eh

It wasn't as bad a performance at 3-1 as some are making out, It was flat, but Bruno hit the bar at 1-1 so it's not like we got blown away. Conceding 2 sloppy goals either side of half time was a frustration, but immensely proud of the players for not wilting and giving up. I love this team and I love Eddie Howe. Fucking get in

Responding to their "stand up if you're 3-1 up" earlier with the equivalent at 4-3 was some fucking catharsis man

70 minutes gone and I was thinking I'd have to explain to the forum why we've gotten hammered at home the one time I see a game. Assume now you're all chipping in to get me and @Pata a season ticket? Honestly what a fucking game. Loved that. Don't think I've ever shouted so loud or cheered like a fucking lunatic as when Barnes scored

Wilson has a bit in the programme where he says "don't want to give too much away" and about how they hate seeing him on the teamsheet. Wouldn't be surprised to see him on the bench

Man I should've come up again sooner than this, forgot how class it is walking around with fans buzzing before a game

Flown in from Bristol and currently on the metro into the city centre for this. Nice seeing so many toon tops at departures, I normally feel like the only fan around for miles Not quite a commute from Bermuda I'll admit

I mean, that's a fairly disingenuous reading of it. From what I read, his teammate saw him betting, asked what the site was and Sandro told him. Hardly fucking predator behaviour
