  1. Neither could we if Ashley did the same as the Portsmouth owners and decided it wasn't worth putting any more money in.
  2. 7/10 of our current debt I think. Even before Ashley added £25m to the loan this season Pompey only have 4/5 of the debt we had.
  3. He's damned cos he hasn't and it'll take a modicum of success (in the top flight) to regain the support of the majority of fans who merely tolerate him at the moment. I also find it strange to celebrate not being Portsmouth. They've been relegated with a fraction of the debt we had when we went down (and still have). I acknoweldge that Ashley's covering the losses....but he's not run the club ANY better. He can just personally afford to fuck it up more than they could. Is that to be congratulated?
  4. Aim for 114 or aim to lose
  5. You are clearly a most learned gentleman. 10 Happy points.
  6. I'd be surprised if it didn't mention how Mikes put £136m (£45m a season) into the club since he's arrived and there's no greater sign of his commitment.
  7. That's pretty much what llambias said in the Ipswich program notes....
  8. Fans were screaming out for communication and commitment. Here are both. No doubt when it comes, many will just say "He's lying! He's not commited to us!!" anyway It just annoys the hell out of me sometimes. We know he's a c***, people don't have to keep f***ing saying it. We're stuck with him at the end of the day. He isn't selling up and we aren't buying it, so let's just get on with it. This season has shown just exactly what working together can do. Some of the players are utter s*** and we were in the gutter in September, yet they all pulled together and managed to get promoted against all expectations. So instead of constantly attacking Ashley, why don't we just listen to what they have to say? And let's make a real go of staying in this league, because at the end of the day we want what's best for NUFC because we're fans and so does Ashley, because he has to protect his investment. NUFC is bigger than Ashley, so let's just fucking prove it. Massive overreaction to a small objection on the topic in hand which that made no reference whatsoever to Ashley. I've not said a bad word about the bloke in months. Hopefully ther thread won't be derailed into a pro/anti Ashley argument.
  9. Probably different opinions from different people though tbf.
  10. Fans were screaming out for communication and commitment. Here are both. No doubt when it comes, many will just say "He's lying! He's not commited to us!!" anyway Exactly. They're proven liars and cheats. It's not as if anyone will believe a word of anything they say. Just get on with the job.
  11. Don't see the point in any statement. Job done. Enjoy your summer. See you in July.

  13. Doesn't the article say it's just to confirm Hughton's position?
  14. Sorry if i'm repeating anything but i just want to make sure i've got the picture right here. £111m was outstanding in June 2009, he's added £25m to that in the season gone and there's a £35m overdraft, so the clubs debt stands over £170m at the moment, right? Or is the overdraft just a facility not being fully utilised? Ignore this. Just read Mick's handy overview. ta
  15. There were other things like....relegation for example. And sacking Allardyce and Keegan cost as much as Luque.

  17. Yeah he could use interest charges to offset an operating profit for tax purposes (on the off chance we ever generate one), but it's a side issue. The club won't be sold with on-demand loans outstanding to Ashley unless the purchaser is the world's biggest numpty. I think that's how he wanted the deal to go down with Moat though......hence the change in terms.
  18. Didn't the mackems write off all their debt? http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Ellis-Short-delivers-50million-boost-to-Black-Cats-article346037.html much the same as us. we're both ok providing the bloke at the top will keep taking the losses. I don't think so. Like at Chelsea and Man City they've flipped the debt into equity so there are no loans outstanding. When you own the company 100%, it's all as good as equity- each have their own advantages and disadvantages but ultimately Ashley has put his own capital at risk in a business he controls. Chelsea were wary of the UEFA Licensing regs, not sure what Short's motivation is. And the quote in the article about the money 'being there forever and cannot be withdrawn' is just a massive lie. There are small differences I think. Interest can't be charged if there are no loans outstanding....I'm not saying Ashley does plan to start charging interest, but he has the option. The club can be sold with outstanding loans too allowing him to walk away but keep us indebted. The debt can then also be called in if the club goes under too.

  21. £40m out of £50m = 80%
  22. Am I missing something? Why would those players not be included in the accounts?
  23. Just to clarify the answer... Leaving £20m profit. Right?
