Wey, let's see what the injury is first.

Which is a bloody hard thing to do in football it seems. Granted, but it's clear to see their owner is miles ahead of ours. Not sure how it can even be debated. Because if he was they would be miles ahead We got relegated, spend practically f*** all, came back up, a season later finished 5th making the Europa League and finished above them again last season. If Short was that great a chairman maybe he would have taken advantage of our slump where as they have stood still at best. He's their owner, not the chairman AFAIK. He may not have appointed the best men for the job (yet), but Ashley's record is not exactly great in that respect either. In every other department he pisses all over Ashley. Backing of the managers yes. I don't really see what else and given the managers have been poor (his appointments) and wasted the majority of that money I really don't see how he is light years ahead. At least Ashley brought in Carr so when we do spend practically f*** all at least we get good players out of it which is why we have finished above them the last 2 seasons (including battling it out for 4th on the last day of the season) and they failed to make any real ground ahead of us even when we were relegated. Our finances are in better shape too. Not sure what this short love is about.

St. Mirren 0-2 Newcastle (FT) post match pigs**t from p17

Do they? They broke even 11/12, spent about 10-15m last year and have currently spent less than 10m this year. Hardly ground breaking investment. We've spent a similar amount in that period and we haven't spent a penny this summer. They simply turnover huge amounts of players. In the past five years, i.e. since Short took over, their nett spend per season is 9.8M (7th), ours is -5.3M (19th). They have spent a total of 150M in that period on transfers, whereas we spent 93M. Source: http://www.transferleague.co.uk/league-tables/transfer-league-table-last-five-seasons.html I don't think that even includes this summer spending, which will Ah I know he has pumped money in previously but he hasn't this summer. 4million so far I think? Lots of frees and the mig money. Signs are the investment is slowing down.

How much has he invested this summer?

So much testosterone in here.

Blackpool 0-1 Newcastle United (FT) post-match discussion from p12
Elliottman replied to RodneyCisse's topic in Football
He was lively at times and skinned a few, needs better players around him though. sounds familiar -
Or we value a player less than others have bid?
-
When asked if we were close to signing anyone he shrugged his shoulders. He's as much in the dark as everyone else it seems.
-
Cant stand that bloke.

I'm with you. Don't think I hate a footballer more than that gigantic cock wipe.

http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mbqschTO3d1qgraj2o1_500.gif What's that supposed to convey? Black people are useless. No idea if I should be laughing at this or not.

You can form your own opinion on Bent without needed Villa fans to tell you about him. You know what you're going to get with him. The problem isnt us signing Bent, its creating chances for him.
-
I am p*ssed off with the whole issue but any other club would have sorted this out by now, it dragging on just harms the club. Either find a middle ground or sell him, we aint going to drip Wonga so it will be Cisse who will leave or back down. I'm not sure what the club can do apart from sell him and that doesnt happen over night. Not sure others clubs could have done much different?

Have I missed something? I thought that's exactly what he was doing? For non religious reasons I meant.
-
It was a decent, well reasoned post until that last part. (although i'm pretty sure he will be using his religion as an excuse) But why? I've been to a casino and that's my personal choice. But by wearing a Wonga loga on his chest, he'd actively be promoting a company to millions around the UK that most people feel uncomfortable about because they target vulnerable people. Because he follows a faith. His faith is against gambling. Is he is using his faith as a reason for not wearing the shirt yet gambles in Casinos then he's a hypocrite. Did you even read his post? If he has a moral problem with Wonga, I get it. So do I. I've misread that part. But either way, its pretty f***ing clear he isnt just making a stand against Wonga and their nasty interest rates. edit: see PFA comments above.

Aye. Thought he was a clever little fucker too.

He wasnt like, there were a fair few challenged that he let go. I was sitting waiting for a whistle on a few occasions and it never came. As for the performance, the last half hour/second half we pretty much controlled the game without having any attacking threat whatsoever. Whether we'll look more dangerous when/if players are brought in, time will tell.
