Just seen this after reading through the thread. lol. You just said it. We're second because we're beating s**** like Everton that don't have 'anything remotely decent upfront' silly scousers. Come back in 15 points time.

He had 3 options as far as I was concerned. 1) Play the ball over to Ba to run clean through. 2) Run the ball into the corner and kill time. 3) Turn around and play it back to Guthrie. He didn't do any of these things, instead he tried to beat the same man a few times and ended up losing the ball in our own half, that isn't keeping the ball. I thought he took him on and got brought down and won a free kick? Unless i remember it wrong.

Can I just second and third this? Any chance we can stop this thread being so s****? Only way thats going to happen is if people stop being so precious about him. Given he has a near 1000 page thread and has hardly kicked a ball for the club, its pretty inevitable that his every move is going to be scrutinised now and forever more. Lets not forget not one person has said he's s*** or should be sold etc. People are just commenting on what they see at the match or on the telly. Its quite normal with any player that one fan will see a good performance and another fan will see a poor display. Not so sure why this particular player cause such vitriol. Shame really. To be honest oak tree, you are pretty much the sole reason the thread had decended into shitness. Constantly wuming people and getting them to bite. Any other player, a sub appreance would have been 'he done ok, needs abit of time'. However, with speculation about reserves, bust ups and refusals you have gotton everyones backs up. Two ways this thread can go - 1. Oak Tree and Baggio are proved right, Ben Arfa fails, chins Pardew, gets sold to The Scum for £40 worth of Casino Chips. Oak Tree and Baggio reign supreme on N-O for the rest of time and we never question them again or 2. Ben Arfa gets some games under his belt over the course of the next 3 months, gets a bit sharper and becomes the good player we all know he is and want to be. We get to so a big group 'FUCK YOU' to Oak Tree and his opinions in future are forever mocked.

Lets recap so I can get my head round this. So far Ben Arfa has - Refused to play for the reserves Refused to play on the Wing Fell out with Pardew Does not work hard enough Is too Greedy with the ball Doesnt have a footballing brain Lied about relatives being ill From this, I can only conclude that a couple on here, by couple I mean Baggio and moreso Christmas Tree have Level 2 Downs.

Ive no idea why everyone is saying we will get hammered. We have the best defensive record in the league. We work as hard as any other team too. Their quality will shine through and i'd imagine it'll be 1,2-0. but im not buying all this 'we'll get hammered'. (unless Cabaye and Tiote dont make it)

I think i can remember one occasion when i thought he could have knocked it off to someone else and the rest of the time he retained the ball well. He won us two free kicks (maybe 3 actually?), his touch was better than it has been in previous cameos, and he worked as hard as ive seen him closing people down and chasing the ball. It was a promising 20 minutes.
