It didnt really start because of any of the points you have made. Everyone knows he needs to improve and everyone accepts it will take time. No biggie It kicked off because Christmas Tree ( i feel stupid calling someone that) insinuated he may be a bad apple based of the fact he hasnt played a reserve game. A theory he has pulled out of his arse basically. Then shit went down.

Those aren't stock excuses, when a player's been out for over a year it's perfectly reasonable to expect a few games to get back up to speed. He's not beyond criticism but how is allowing some time for adjustment unreasonable? I was speaking in general on the bolded bit. With Ben Arfa, I have no problem that he needs to come up to speed. I think there is more to it than that, is all. Yes, he has been away for a year. HOWEVER, the team that he is in now is vastly different than the one he was in then. Different tactics, abilities, mentality and style. I think it is up to him to fit in with the team and not the other way around. I noticed a few things that concern me in these terms. Why is that not fodder for reasonable discussion. I'll explain it this way. I play CB in my team. My partner Carlos, was out injured for four matches. His replacement, Ted, is equally talented but plays a completely different style than Carlos. For the first game Ted and I kept things fairly simple until we could form a partnership and understanding. In the case of Ben Arfa, why is this not on? Why can't we discuss the pros and cons of this in light of his (to me) obvious talent and ability to read the game. I am curious to hear how people see his progress in fitting in to the team, what motivates him, where he is developing connections on the field and where he is not. Colo and Jonas are two examples in the current team of players who have improved. My contention is that they are playing with defined roles and expectations of their team mates. This has led to what we see as individual improvement. Ted, Carlos and Hatem Ben Arfa. There is definitely a difference, I just cant put my finger on it.

If both Vuckic and HBA play I can't see HBA being put on the wing rather than Vuckic. Pardew has said HBA will never play on the right for him.

Why do you keep banging on about him playing in the reserves? Not everyone does when they come back. He is getting first team time now too. And he will get a good 60-70 minutes tomorrow id imagine. Its all you ever seem to say about him.

Run back to them and cry because someone is getting it cheaper than I am? Fair enough if they want to sell last season's STs at a lower price like, I wouldn't complain about that. Wha? FIFA is a product that gets old after day one. A ST is 'new' all season as we're experiencing the same game at the same time, but one of us is paying £15 more each time for the pleasure of doing so. Really? I thought it was new until the next one comes out a year later. Look, I can understand why some people might think they are being hard done by, but at the end of the day, attendances will be up and that can only be good for the team and the club. If it encourages new fans/young un's to come along, all the better. There would be no other to get the other 5-8k through the door other than cheaper tickets. The same amount will still be coming out of your account as before, if you really feel that hard done by then why not just cancel your direct debit.

Great example, a team that practically gave up on the league to concentrate on the cup and got relegated. Honestly, if you dont want to try and win a cup, why not just give up and stop watching football? Whats the point? You make it sound like I would hate to win it. League position is far more important to me than staying in a cup I think we've got little chance of lifting, European qualification is our main goal and it's what will help attract better players to the club, I think we've got more chance of getting that through finishing higher in the league than winning a cup with Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea still in there. If we get to the semi's I'll show some interest and belief we can win it but until then I see it as a good way of giving some of our young lads more experience, nothing more than that. Mental.
