The club has already said it wants a top ten finish, i think everyone can agree, we'd all be happy with a top ten this year? If so, im not even sure what we are arguing about. Would you be saying the same if Tchoyi had headed his final chance over the bar? Very convenient result for the club that was. Regardless of what happened last season, a top ten finish would represent progress. Again, I think we'd all take that.

Exactly. Havent we only finished in the top 10 something daft like twice in the last 7 or 8 years or something??? That's still no excuse. We could quite easily do it this season but it's turning into a needless struggle. What's Europe, 7th? Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs are imo obviously ahead of us so that's one place for everyone else to fight for. Not exactly easy imo. I was referring to the top 10 mention. It was looking very achievable a few months ago. top 10 ten isnt achievable now?

Thats not the point though. People are saying we are going backwards, when reality, we arent. But half of the period you're comparing to was under Ashley's tenure anyway. Two years ago we were in the second division, I guess we're making huge steps forward now by being in the top flight? Guess if you are looking on the brightside My point being, Pardew has basically said its getting tough to get in Europe and people are winging on like its been a common occurance the past few years, when in reality it hasnt. People are jumping on him every chance they get and its getting pretty boring. Cant come into a thread it seems without someone having a go at him.

Now I have seen double posts but how does this work? Ive not idea, my Dog kept licking my hand as I was trying to type, next thing I know, double post galore!

Without even checking, I know your stats are a load of s***. And obviously we've not done it under Ashley because he has no interest in it. Using his years just proves my point. Twice in 8 years sorry. Proper Euro travellers us like. 2002 - 4th 2003 - 3rd 2004 - 5th 2006 - 7th A year later Ashley arrived. As i say, twice in the last 8 seasons.

He's right He's right that it is impossible to accrue 8 more points than we did last season? Don't fall for the f***ing propaganda man. Just checked, we've finished in the top ten twice in 9 years. Pardew says 'lets not think of Europe' and people say we are going backwards. People need to get real man. Its pretty obvious that a certain few are just looking to jump on him at every chance. I do not miss the sight of Nolan trudging around the middle of the park like,

Many times you seen him play? Probably 10-15 or so. He's not as bad as Bebe, but f*** me, he is grim. Impressive youve seen him so many times. You must catch pretty much every Man United game or you watched a lot a french football too? Cant help but feel that figure has been used to plug your argument mind. Just my opinion like.

Ashley's regime has generally been pretty good at getting decent fee's to be fair. In some cases they've done really well. Enrique's contract situation is the decisive thing here though. He won't let him go for nothing next summer and will take whatever is offered for him imo. No doubt he'll be off. Pardew keeps talking about a plan in place if he leaves. Have to assume he has someone lined up, so if it doesnt happen he will be slaughtered. However, i dont think he'd keep reiterating it if he wasnt confident. That's where we disagree. I think his 'replacement' is already here - Ferguson. No need to spend cash and it gives one of the young lads a chance which fans approve of. Doesn't always work out but the fans will swallow it until Jan. I really dont think so. Pardew was reluctant to even give games to Fergie up until the end of the season. Cant see him being happy going into a new season with an untested youngster. Especially with no back up. Im fairly confident we'll bring someone in and Fergie will be back up. That left hand side of Enrique and Jonas worked well for 2 seasons and Pardew would have been criticised had he dropped one if the other. Ferguson has bided his time and he'll get his chance I reckon. Could be wrong but we'll soon see. Wasnt there a point when Enrique was injured though and he opted to play someone else ahead of Fergie saying he wasnt ready? I just think if that was only the 2nd half of lasy season, I cant see him going into a new one with only Fergie and no back up. Like you say though, we'll see in the next few weeks. Glad when the window is closed.

I think Barton will be involved. Can see him being on the bench after this weeks talks with AP. Cant wait for this, Saturdays have been guff. -

Agree with that. Not many decent managers out of work, even less that will put up with Ashley. Exactly. As mental as it sounds, i think we'd be fucked if Pardew went.

Read those Colo quotes a couple of days ago. Unless he is just going around repeating things.

If Tiote is back, if we get some good news about Barton, if we sign obertan then the biggest if, a new striker comes in, I see the mood around the club being the opposite. Already feels a little more positive. First game of the season, late kick off, everyone pissed, SJP rocking, lets do the Cockney Bastards!! -
Him And Ben Arfa sending defenders dizzy

Jesus man, you've went from 'neglecting left back' to 'could be another Duff' to 'if this is out striker' in a couple of sentences. How about, we've added to the midfield with some genuine pace now lets crack on and get the striker we need. Afterall, there is 3 weeks left!
