  1. Soz to keep this too off topic but Speed's fitness record was also quite remarkable. I mean we sold him just before his 35th birthday and he went onto play 120 PL games for Bolton. He scored 8 league goals in 06/07, most of which he was 37 for. He missed 5 league games in his three first full seasons for us.
  2. Genuinely thought you were inviting us randos to a match on a stag do at first.
  3. I'm so glad we stick our away fans up a height. I'd absolutely hate seeing away teams celebrating with their fans like that
  4. Just noticed only 2 teams have scored more than us (Liverpool and Man City), and one the same (Spurs). We've scored TWENTY more than ManU! (but worst defence in top 8. Brighton conceded one more in ninth)
  5. Obviously we just want to finish as high as possible, but I think 6th/7th are the realistic targets now. We're in a good position for 7th, we should be looking to finish above West Ham and keep Brighton/Chelsea behind. ManU are unpredictable, great if we could pip them to 6th.
  6. Pundits (including Given) saying Forest should’ve had a pen. Not for me .
  7. Raging about that jammy second equalizer and it's timing
  8. Aye I can’t be annoyed at Burn for being slow, there’s not much anyone can do about that
  9. Reckon we did Stick, Rush or Any Man Save a lot. We did Fog Man Back occasionally but preferred Any Man Save since it's just simpler than determining who is furthest back in a crowded box - no VAR lines necessary. Nee blasties could either be because the ball would go far away, but also cos it was a reluctant keeper.
  10. Rush and fog man were not the same, not for us anyway. As others said Rush is an assigned keeper that can come out. Yes, that's what any keeper can do in pros - but 'rush' was significant because as a kid you could also have 'stick' keepers, where the keeper was not allowed to come out. E.g. against a group of older lads that dominate the game you might want them to have stick, because a rush keeper would help dominate their attack.
  11. 'Any man save' for us. (vs stick, rush, or fog man back)

  13. Vancouver Whitecaps’ stadium was booked for the BC Home and Garden Show so they played their CONCACAF Champions League match v Tigres (Mexico) here in Victoria instead. I went, 1-1 with a late Tigres equaliser free kick by former France international Gignac. Sell out at 5700ish. Majority there were Mexicans I’d guess. I’ve now been to champions leagues in Europe, Asia and North America. Need to do the Libertadores next.
  14. Bradford too, drifting into early 00s. I also remember Coventry - that memory for me would've been 1999/00. Tbh the main Mido chant I remember hearing when I was at the match was 'Mido is a paedo'.
  15. Was the main part of our songbook most the times I've been there.
  16. 4 of 10 teams today have scored 4+ goals. That can’t be common.
  17. If we’d won that 5-4 in the end I’d have absolutely loved it. But the disappointment massively outweighs the sense of fun for me, it needed the relief of a win at the end to be truly fun. I was incredibly frustrated at the end as we were after a 5th. I would’ve loved it if it was another team.
  18. A few hours ago I fancied us for 6th or 7th. Not anymore - it's not just that we've dropped 2 points in that race, but that was based on me thinking the Villa win was the start of us getting back to what we were earlier/last season. Clearly not. Probably 8-9th.
  19. That's a massive sickner that. Entertaining obviously, but that completely ruined any sense that Villa was the signal of something. Fuck sake., most disappointed I've been this season.
