Shelvey has only played 3 games this season, we are where we are without him being available anyway. I think we have strengthened and also having ASM and Isak available will help attacking and Gordon/Ashby seem like good buys as well. Centre will be short but we have a few options to rejig formations given our resources. I would have snapped your hand off for this team with Shelvey gone a year ago. He doesn't really fit the tempo and even if you think Longstaff is limited he is fit and plays a part.

He's a 21 year old kid getting loads of abuse and scapegoated while showing more effort that most last season to keep those Scouse makem cunts up. I trust our lot to have checked everything on him and have faith anyone we sign has a purpose as they have shown that so far. A kid like him with Trips etc around him could be good as he has talent.

2 very practical signings so far and expect a fair few to go out including Darlow for £5m? And probably money now aside to cover the players with greater potential. Think we will be ok by start of season and now have 2 good keepers which is important given Darlow limitations and Dubravka injury record

Personally think we will sign players under age of 26 mostly due to age of the squad. Season has just finished and will take few weeks to sign players and I bet we end up in a much stronger position or at least as strong as villa do based on nothing other than the Owners having ambition.

He's not shite, he was Bruced for 2 years and didn't train or get any coaching at all. No surprise he's looked decent last 2 games after being coached and playing in a better setup. That fella from Bournemouth has been unreal and has shown what a manager with a plan that will coach players and work on tactics can do compared to Bruce that had this looking so disjointed. Somehow Howe has brought squad together, improved a huge number of the players already here, has no problem implementing a back 4, has us pressing high up the pitch without getting caught short often and has the players able to run for 90 mins when previously they were blowing out their arse after 10. Our injury list doesn't seem too bad either. Almost like he's professional as fuck and knows what he's doing. Proved the fans right all along that Bruce was the problem and deserved every bit the abuse he got for stealing a living. If he was still in place we would have been relegated months ago.
