He a unit and doesn't look out of place at all. He seems to understand the pressing/tactical side of the game as well and doesn't look fazed by any of it.
-
He did and is tidy in possession, never stops running, gets in goalscoring positions and Howe has got him now having an end product. With Barnes and Gordon we possibly have at least 20-25 goals coming from the wings but some fans would rather endless step overs, showboating and trying to skin 10 players which no team really has now. I'm quite excited with the 3 we have signed, players from last season improving and bringing academy players into the team. 14 years of cunt face has made me grateful for where we are.

It's proper Alan Partridge stuff but fair play to him for having the balls doing this type of thing given the ridicule he would get.
-
I don't think that seems too light, Isak can also play out wide, Livramento at a push could. Joelinton, Willock, Bruno generally fit. Barnes plays a lot of games usually, Murphy rarely knacked. Most teams only have a few replacements, Man City used fewest players last season at 22 although exceptional players, we used same as Arsenal, Brighton, Villa and Palace.

Really think people just need to trust the process. They know what they are doing.

You don't get many top wide players dribbling past everyone. ASM good at the spectacular but Barnes and Gordon probably more efficient with the ball. ASM tried to be more efficient end of last season but that's not his game and don't think he suits where we want to go. Most of last season he wasn't involved. How preferred Almiron, Willock, Joe workrate and efficiency, tactical play and intelligence on the ball.

He gets them pretty consistent as well and running through brick walls for him
-
That's a big loss for them though? Who they got for their midfield now, Macallister, Henderson, Tiago and Trent ? Or have they signed other

What happened with him at Liverpool?

Still think we will sign 2 or 3 more after Barnes. Also thinking Botman, Isak, Gordon, Bruno will improve again this season as will Willock and Joelinton. We also have Anderson who I think will come on more this season and showed signs at end of last. Not worried at all as I think we have added quality with Tonali and have a strong, athletic and box to box midfield. With wing options we can press all game. Backup centre back and left back probably priority and it's about building on last season and not ripping it up. They will be hoping to start generating funds by players they get underneath first team such as Minteh, that Australian kid, Anderson, others being brought in youth teams or that it creates a pipeline to first team to save loads in future. We need to just enjoy the ride, champions league will be difficult anyway, we can't spend fortunes because of FFP shit and if we only finish 7-5th in league so be it, we will still have a cracking season and something else to build on.

Yeah I think it's crazy everyone is complaining about who we sign, will wait to see it come together.

Barnes is way more productive than ASM has been. He provides more goal threat. ASM may dribble more but doesn't offer that much in way of assists or goals and is often frustrating. Having someone that can score outside or inside box compliments Isaak and Wilson when teams try to stay deep. I think it's a really good signing for us. He can probably help out more defensively than ASM as well. Never quite get the negativity considering where we have been. I trust Howe/Ashworth and the rest to get it right more often than wrong so going to trust that and they must have seen something to think he's a good fit with the team/tactics etc.
-
I think it's a class signing. If they got chiesa as well they have 3 players in Gordon, Barnes and Chiesa that could play in most positions across that front line in a 4-3-3 or even in a 4-2-3-1 and the midfield behind that has the legs and ability to dominate midfields. Still need a left back hopefully and maybe a young central defender

Hendrick for 20 million? Manquillo as well, Lascelles for 40 million. FFP sorted
-
He started there didn't he ?

The stamina of our players improved massively last summer tbf, they couldn't run for 20 mins under Captain Kebab, confident he will improve massively.

They moved the ball well yesterday and we're at us. Longstaff needs a rest but does the things Joelinton and Willock don't with the cover he provides and he helps out Trips and Murphy on the right. I think he's very underrated because he doesn't do the sexy stuff. He's pretty consistent as well.
-
He's still been part of a team as a whole that hasn't conceded a lot of goals. He's not great and needs an upgrade but has played his part in getting us here. Same as the Longstaff crack, people would probably notice if he wasn't in the team. He helps when Trips moves up pitch Burn slots in at times to make a 3. It's about balance which is maybe why Howe has him in there from tactical perspective. He has been making a lot of mistakes though and is limited at Left Back so I get it but just look at team performance as a whole and we have been so good at times.
-
3 away games off the trot probably didn't help yesterday. Hopefully we can turn Spurs over next week and we will nearly be there. We have a pretty decent run left and I could see Arsenal not wanting to come and play us at home at all. I never thought we would be here with 8 games left in 3rd having lost only 4 games. Apart from today we look better than Man U and Spurs and I don't think the other teams will catch us.
-
Massive overreaction to a bad performance. We could definitely upgrade but he's been part of a defence that's been solid most season and we have lost same number of games as Man City and have 3rd best goal difference in league. Just a really bad off day and tbf Villa played well.
-
Been asleep this whole game, worst performance this season

Can't believe we are complaining about this being horrible. Steve Bruce says hello ? we aren't as good as we were earlier in the season but hard to get annoy6at being 5th right now
