I watched the extended highlights of the game last night, which is what, 2/3 of the game? But from what I saw Gouffran played quite well. I know he's not popular but he made some intelligent passes and actually somewhat contributed in an attacking sense.

Well if someone traps the ball when they've ended up on the floor it's usually given as obstruction, so it the same principle really.

His first touch is so erratic, really frustrating at times, especially when it causes a rare attack to break down.

"We won because they were shite", is becoming a minor pet hate of mine. Don't get me wrong, I hate Pardew and the way he plays as much as everyone else, but I've seen that statement said after every one of our last 5 wins. They can't all be purely because the opposition was rubbish.

The biggest indication of how I think he's doing is that I don't feel like we're missing Debuchy. Overall ability wise, they seem similar - Debuchy probably better defensively, particularly in the air, and Janmaat is probably slightly better going forward as he has better feet.

I think the Sack Pardew people deserve credit- but for that campaign Im not certain things would have changed. I agree with this, even if the end goal hasn't yet been achieved, it's certainly served a positive purpose.
