10 assists, 11 goals. Still impressive but 16 league assists is KDB, Bruno F, Salah tier.
-
I thought he showed really promising cohesion with Bruno and Ramsey. The three of them put together a few really nice quick sequences.
-
Yeah, I think you did. Thought he was great.
-
Really disappointed with how we reacted to the equaliser. Rather than trying to get back in front we dropped back and hoped we'd hang on. It wasn't a bad performance overall, but soured by the end.

Peak Colo is always a mention in any of my lists of best CB's I've seen for us. Probably my favourite to watch. Schar wins the longevity and consistency award.
-
Would be fun to see Pope try to deal with that back pass (even though I'm sure he could have actually just picked it up)
-
He looks entirely out of sync with the rest of our team and you can see it in some of the assumptive passes he makes in the clips above. It's excusable on day one but when it's still the case towards the end of the season as it is then it's a major concern.

I barely ever post TBH, at least not to any great extent beyond the odd throw away comment, and I certainly don't get drawn into the weeds of the analysis these days. But I watched that entire game, and I can confirm I wasn't dreaming. It was by no means awful to any hyperbole, but it was absolutely not better than expected to the extent where you can see it as a foundation for progress. We played an incredibly nervy team, desperate to hear the full time whistle from the moment they scored, and we did little to worry them all game.
-
Do you genuinely think that was a good performance? Better than expected? On par with what we're capable of?
-
We didn't play better than expected. Arsenal were nervy, there for the taking and we didn't absolutely nothing of note all game. We are capable of significantly more, it wasn't good enough.
-
Never has it been more obvious we were never scoring. I don't think you'll realistically get a better chance to win at the Emirates than that and we didn't lay a glove on them. In recent years I feel we have a chance against them but today it felt like we're a pre takeover version of ourselves taking on one of the good teams that wasn't playing well. The result had total inevitability.

I truly want him to do well for us. Every game I see him start I look on with blind optimism hoping that this'll be the game that the odd flash he's shown turns into something of substance. It never happens. He has been an utterly rubbish footballer for us, there's no way around it. He fails at such basic things constantly.
-
Well it was enjoyable for 75% of the tie. Unfortunately the engine fell out the car on a busy motorway 3/4 of the way home
-
Ignore the previous several good performances and use the one collectively awful 45 minutes to cast absolute judgement
-
Funny Spurs situation aside, Richarlison just did absolutely everything in his power to stay on his feet to get a shot away, despite VVD actively holding him and cheating to get advantage. No reward for trying to be honest, no pen. And they wonder why players dive.

I thought he worked hard and put in a good defensive performance and obviously, and crucially [for a change] made the right decision for the goal, but personally still found his frustrating elements quite evident again. He almost always immediately follows up any good action he takes with a bad one. He will earn himself space with through skill or athleticism that few others players can do, only to fail to capitalise on it - the pass will be the wrong one, or it'll be too slow, or just lacking any quality. He's probably the most frustrating player in the squad for me; if he had the ability to follow up his strengths with the right decision on a regular basis he'd be an incredibly useful player.

I think Shearer, contrary to a lot of other pundits that comment on their own team, seems to try and make a conscious effort to offer a modicum of balance when he's talking about us. But he's also clearly a passionate fan and levies criticism where he thinks it's due, partly to offer some balance, and partly tinged with fan frustration that we're all feeling this year. Woltemade is an interesting choice of player to call any criticism over-the-top criticism, too, because whilst I'm personally in favour of keeping and working on him over the coming preseason, he has been utterly ineffective for a good while now, so I'm not sure any rational, constructive critical opinion should be deemed over-the-top. Just because I want us to work on him, doesn't mean I don't understand the basis of an opinion of those that would rather get rid. I personally find any overly negative fan opinion of Shearer quite strange, as he's at worst boring, and certainly not a polarising or rage-bait personality. Bland I can understand, but I like him, he's entertaining in his pod, and I much prefer his commentary and punditry approach to the cringey "banter" bollocks that you see most of the time.

For the top teams the ref probably would have blown the whistle when the time was up rather than allowing a full spell of possession from the back.
-
I think he's quality. He pulls strings and opens up space for those around him.
-
I do want us to get a full preseason with him, and see what next season brings, but I have serious doubts he'll work out for us. He offers absolutely nothing whatsoever.
-
Peak Joelinton is an absolute joy to watch. His feign and change of direction in the first half popped me good
-
I have real concerns about whether he is a fit for both ourselves and the league, but I think shifting him without giving him a full preseason with us would be silly. I would absolutely give him another season before looking to offload.
-
Dark arts like blatantly diving before allowing VDV a shot? He's been really poor all season in opinion. If he wants to go, then I'd get rid, we won't miss this version of him and we'll get a decent fee.
-
Possibly, I can't imagine he was peak confidence prior to the game.
-
I thought Willock was good last night, and a reminder that the best version of him would be so valuable to us right now. I did also however think that he stifled a good few of our attacks by not releasing the ball quicker. He either isn't confident in his ability to make the pass or simply doesn't have very good vision. His biggest strength for me is his ability to turn and transition our attacks at pace, but he's wasting his strengths if he's not seeing the next move.
