Aye, I agree our general approach isn't what I'd ideally like to see, but I can see why Pardew has stuck with it as it keeps getting him results.

I know, I didn't say we were. But when two goals dropped into our laps then I don't think the way we reacted was surprising or particularly bad.

They were firing 90% of their forward passes aimlessly into the space behind the defence. They had a lot of the ball but did very little with it. Doyle's header was a decent chance, but that was about it.

Just because the result went against us, it doesn't mean the first half approach was wrong. We went in at half time very comfortable and 2-0 up. Yes Wolves had had some possession, but it was very poor quality and I bet the Wolves fans would have been much more angry than ours. It was the second half that really surprised me. Pardew should have taken the opportunity to fire up the players and send them out to get another couple. It didn't happen at all, obviously. I wasn't creaming myself by the way.
  5. Heard Direct First Arena as well.
  6. No way Raylor should be at fullback, he's appalling. I know Simpson is as well, but at least he can sometimes stand in the way of an attacker and kind of defend.

Obviously people are entitled to criticise him for anything they want, but they should also be giving him credit for the good season we've had. It seems being in the top 10 has suddenly become the accepted norm and now doesn't count for anything, even though at the start it would have been a great achievement.
  8. A right side of Simpson and Raylor is just asking for defeats TBH. Neither of them should be anywhere near a Premier League first time on current showings. I thought Simpson had a chance for a while, but he's really declined this season.
  9. That doesn't really follow though, Pardew plays a load of players who lose the ball a lot.
  10. Yep, been wanting this for a while. We could move the whole right side over to the left and hoy HBA on at LW.
  11. Of course i do. It was tongue in fucking cheek Your deadpan humour is second to none.

Would be winning 8-0 by now if it wasn't for this f***ing coward! Wahey, the benefit of hindsight! If you're gonna make childish little jibes then you have to expect them back tbh. Fuck off man. My point was that Pardew has managed us to a good position in the league. Which he has.
  13. Roger, you know what he means man. Like when he didn't give a fuck what Cantona gave in training or what weird outfits he turned up in for away games, because he was his talisman and by far his best player. The same way that Warnock got the best out of Taraabt, make him untouchable. Make him feel like you love him and he's the best player in the world.

Surely he must believe that the likes of Colo, Cabaye, Tiote, Santon, Jonas, HBA, Cisse and Ba can play good football? They've proven they have bags of ability. I really don't understand his conservative approach to games like this. Ryan Taylor as a RM is insane.
  16. We got to the latter stages of the champions league with Griffin, Hughes, Dabizas and fucking Babayaro! IIRC.
  17. I can't believe that people can say anything about HBA other than "he's potentially class but he hasn't been given a chance". Those are the facts, on ability he deserves a run of 10 games in the team with no possibility of being dropped. Then we might be dusting off our passports next season.
  18. Yep, the off the ball movement is awful. It's bothered me for a long time, we just don't pass and move it in a lively way like a normal football team. and who is it that should be responsible for that? Well the manager, coaches and players. Who were you thinking of?

  20. I would say our team spirit and work rate has been one of the main reasons we've done so well. Today it was lacking though, that's true.
  21. I thought the first half performance was normal for a team who have been gifted two goals by shite opposition, subdued but comfortable. The big disappointment for me was that we didn't come out firing after half time. It was obviously what was needed and it was obvious that Wolves would be fired up to salvage something. Very unlucky with the Jarvis goal mind.

Disappointed that whatever was said at half time made no difference, but unless you're in there you can't tell if it's Pardew's fault or not. The first half performance was normal for a team that has been gifted two goals and is under no pressure, but the second half was inexcusable.
  23. He nearly scored twice by cutting inside onto his left though.
  24. Hit and miss but he did nearly score twice, which is more than anyone else on the pitch. He's clearly under pressure because he doesn't think Pardew has any faith in him.
