  1. Don't think anyone disagrees with you there.
  2. I agree with that as well, sort of, but I think Enrique is good enough for us to take a risk on him eventually deciding to sign. As I said though, another LB should arrive anyway.
  3. You're going too far with all this now. It's just logical based on what I believe about our finances in the past and going forward. I'm not saying I wouldn't enjoy some big signings, of course I would.
  4. If we assume N'Zogbia would cost about twice as much overall, I think we'd be nearer the truth. I'd still rather have him, but I can understand why the people actually making the decision might have decided otherwise.
  5. Interesting, I'm relatively satisfied with that. Likely he'll leave, but possible he'll stay. That's all we can ask for at the moment IMO. We should still be looking to sign at least one LB though, either way we need replacement or cover.
  6. So we would be paying £2m to Marveaux and his agent, but Zoggy would only cost £9m including all fees? I would rather have Zoggy anyway personally, as I've never seen Marv play, but what I'm saying is that the club might have decided to go for a cheaper/riskier option. And that's a valid strategy IMO, either because we can't afford the more expensive player or we decide the extra money would be better used elsewhere.
  7. So true, if we'd signed our new players at a rate of one every two weeks we wouldn't be having these discussions.
  8. If they were the same price it would be a fair comparison.
  9. Well joint worst, I think that's the point though.
  10. When do you ever know the truth about a transfer negotiation or a signing FFS? We don't even know the truth about the ones that succeed, never mind all the others.
  11. I'm with you brother.
  12. A like a good bit of sarcasm, me.
  13. Fair point mate, I'm looking forward to seeing Vuckic, Kadar and Abeid make an impact at least. Hopefully Lua Lua as well.
  14. Fairly sure out of those players I listed, we lodged bids for all except NZog. Most of those weren't just gossip, we were actively trying to get them, and didn't get any of them. Yeah, but that list doesn't include all the players mentioned by the press who we didn't bid for. That's the whole point.
  15. Except a striker. PS I don't actually know who the club is trying to sign, don't order that shotgun and single shell just yet.
  16. Fucking Man Utd, making up bids to satisfy the fans, why don't they just get him in, he wants to go there, etc etc, blah blah blah.
  17. I doubt we're looking at anyone else except a striker in the attacking department.
  18. Yeah, but at the same time, how many players can a club carry in each position? That fact is that we have a better and deeper squad then we've had for ages IMO.
  19. Yeah. It's not like we bid £10m for him in the Jan transfer window to give people the idea we were interested in him like. Beats me where people get these ideas from. So what's your criticism there, that we bid for him? I thought you were annoyed because we didn't? I'm annoyed at the bullshit. I could accept we don't want him because we don't want him or we believe we've bought better, but bidding £10-12m on the last day of the transfer window when you know it's too late to sign anyone is bullshit. Just as bidding for Bent and Richardson was bullshit the year before. Now when we could actually sign Zog we are running a mile. That is what is mildly annoying. I don't really get this. Do you think we should succeed with every bid we make? And if not, why do you assume that every unsuccessful bid is bullshit? I've answered those in the post you quoted. Have you? I can't find the answer in a form I can understand. Sorry. The unsuccessful bid is bullshit because it was made when it was too late to get it done. And no I don't believe we should succeed with every bid but I think we could definitely have succeeded with this one if we really wanted it to happen. Righto, but that's not an answer to the question I asked. I agree we could have signed N'Zogbia in as much as it's theoretically possible we could have met Wigan's valuation and his wage demands, but that doesn't mean we were going to or are wrong not to.
