Who had membership taken away?

I like Barnes as I said yesterday, he can look a bit silly in certain situations because he's not particularly strong or athletic physically. But he's a great dribbler and runner, and can shoot off both feet. I don't think we're in a position where we can afford to write him off. Jacob Murphy is starting games FFS.

Could we have brought him off or not? I assumed we left him on because we had used all our chances to make a sub. We made 5 subs by 86 mins when Isak went off.

It's going to be funny to see how bad we rate our own squad while complaining how much better we should be doing.

Hard to decide whether to rest anyone for the final, the chance of winning are low anyway but basically zero without Isak. Three points against West Ham could easily turn out to be more important than the cup final, as sad as that is.

Exactly. Have no idea why people seem to get so much satisfaction in lining up against Gordon. Maybe they basically think of him as a scouse rat or someone with a bad attitude, like they did before he signed. He was extremely unlucky to get a red card for that. Has to be one of the softest red cards of any season.

He was limping heavily towards the end, I think we must’ve used all our subs. He basically had to go to CB because he couldn’t run.

I just think this strategy is easy to point to but very hard and controversial to execute. Almiron was in the form of his life, Wilson had played himself into the England squad. Neither were likely to fetch big money. I guess Murphy is not quite in that bracket but he’s shown himself to be a very valuable squad player. I don’t really disagree with the theory of getting the max value we can, but it’s not easy to run a club while clearing out anyone who’s in form.

It think it’s very hard to say what par is for us because of the massive variance in quality through our squad. I really struggle to say how good we ‘should’ be because some of our players are fundamentally good and some are terrible.

People forget that Tonali was a Longstaff replacement and just happened to get banned for a year. The idea Howe wanted to run Longstaff every game is just not true.

I personally like him, given a run he would be dangerous. Just wonder about his physical ability to track back and forward all game. He moves very smoothly and efficiently with the ball and goes past people easily. As well as being a good shooter off both feet and a good finisher.

Don’t know how Man Utd are allowed to continue with that death pit around the side of their pitch.

It’s hard to fill a forum with sensible posts when basically the club is on the right track, we have a class manager and nothing to worry about except time.

I don’t think that much has changed TBH, he hasn’t got the assists but he always gave the ball away loads.

This is what I thought as well. It’s in the flow of a challenge, he hasn’t lined the guy up and struck him. He’s trying to shove him away and unfortunately contacts above the shoulders. It’s not violent conduct in a million years.

Of course, we just can’t expect the manager to have us playing like a squad that has reliable and consistent quality throughout it.
