  1. A Turkish lad called iron man is surely not messing about. Would sign
  2. Pretty obvious though, given we bought him.
  3. Think it’s much more likely we thought he was a good fit but he has mentally struggled to adapt to the move.
  4. You think we did that?
  5. I think he definitely could. I believe the amount of involvement he’s had here is mainly to do with the lack of support around him. Also obviously it’s easier to accept whatever players Man City sign for you because you have loads of money and you basically know they’re going to be class. I imagine.
  6. He's a professional football manager, of course he's a control freak. And he's obsessive about his work. At Bournemouth he was working with a skeleton infrastructure in a club that was on the verge of imploding. You could argue very similar since he came here, the full infrastructure around him has never been in place. I feel like Howe is smart enough to see this summer as an opportunity to have some of that burden lifted, received some fresh faces and younger players and really get back to what he does best. We'll see.
  7. I'm sure Howe wanted to keep Isak in general terms, the problem is he made himself into someone that we could never keep around the squad because of his behaviour.
  8. I don’t think the manager is going to be the only decision maker for the sale of the most valuable asset we’ve had for decades. It goes way beyond Howe. I imagine his position did change a bit as the thing dragged on, particularly after he went on strike.
  9. I doubt much depends on the last few results really, much more on the discussions with PIF this week. I do want a win to settle the place down mind.
  10. Who’s the Geordie returning home? Finally an exec role for Brucey?
  11. Follow the Chelsea and Spurs blueprint.
  12. I never thought he was faking an injury, I just thought he might've been left out because we think he's not trying due to wanting to leave. And we say he's injured in public.
  13. Ah right, interesting, I didn't know anyone from PIF would be that involved in appointments. But I guess a CEO isn't always the decision maker on everything in a company.
  14. Yeah, it's not ideal for preparation but it's essential things are put in place before the window opens. And if they're sacking Howe it needs to be known now.
  15. How do you know it was PIF?
  16. Totally identified with him in the moment of that rant, sometimes you just have to tell someone to fuck right off Missed the last few updates, great to hear he's doing well and out and about. Living legend.
  17. I like Gordon's attributes but he's miles away from Bayern level, their performance last night would've blown his mind. Of course the Bundesliga is probably an easier ride when you're playing for a team that dominates most games.
  18. I don't necessarily disagree but we do say this every summer, about how much better everyone except us will be.
  19. Who knows I guess. I still believe the main reason he was such a key player in transfers since the takeover was that there was nobody else to do it.
  20. I don't get this argument. Just because football clubs usually only think about the last 6 months and sack people quickly, it's obviously the right thing to do? We have an opportunity here to show some patience, improve the infrastructure around the manager and see what could happen. As @llcoolc157 said above, some top managers have had down periods before kicking on again. It's obviously not guaranteed but it could happen. If sacking was such an obvious option it wouldn't generate this debate.
  21. We're obsessed with Rayan I agree he looks decent but I don't think you're ever going to sign a replacement in January for a guy you only signed in summer. No matter how bad Elanga is.
  22. I don't like to post it but I think this summer will be good, have for a while
  23. TBH if I was Howe I would welcome some of the load being lifted from me and the chance to work with some fresh young players. I've never believed that he's stupid enough to demand the kind of control people say and only one type of signing. There's no evidence for it and plenty that he's open to learn and improve.
