Bellisimo.

They're both cowboys and wheeler-dealers, Ashley has just gone for the nuclear option to sort things out. Bear in mind it's Taylor's agent that is saying he's "devastated", not the player himself.

Stop getting my hopes up man!

Pretty funny interview. No dice Burton. Is it online anywhere? http://www.skysports.com/video/clips/0,23791,16556_6337943,00.html Cheers, I always forget about that Sky Sports site.

Don't think you could say Taylor is fourth choice. He's arguably our best CB when fit... Colo has a terrible season in the prem in his recent CV, Campbell is ageing and Williamson looks good but has a lot to prove. I don't want us to break our wage structure for Taylor, but I'd rather keep him than sell him still.

Piano and a bit of guitar. Think he's only grade 3 on that though.

I don't want to believe this is possible TBH, just try to wait and see.

Aye, totally. They could write a book on the amount of shit players we've signed for big money. Can't argue with that. I fell sorry for journos in a way, so much airtime and column inches to fill, 24 hours a day now. No surprise they can't fill them with quality. -

Don't think Tomasson should be there, he only cost £2.5m. -
Is that true? Fucking hell, interesting stat that. I don't actually place that much blame on Smith. Even if he is shit, he always gives 100%. It's the likes of Duff and Owen I'd like to inflict pain on. Like when he hides in the defence and doesn't track any runs? Just because he fancies a tackle or two doesn't mean he's really giving 100%. He did the exact opposite of that in the Aston Villa match and was 10x better than usual as a result. I agree with the Villa comment, I would much prefer if he always played like that. All I was saying was that I think he's a hard worker who cares about the team, I still believe that. I don't think he 'hides' in the defence deliberately - he's just not very good at playing DM.

We should always refer to football positions in French, the words are brilliant! Guardiens, Attaquants, awesome.

Yours was just the latest post using made up numbers to reach a decision. You're assuming he's been offered £40k. Aye, only hypothetically though. Obviously I couldn't list all the hundreds of possible circumstances that may or may not have happened. Maybe he's been offered £41k, maybe £38k... maybe a lot of things. What I meant was that the result will speak for itself, either he'll accept a contract within the new wage structure or he won't.

UV, I said that we didn't know what has really happened, that was my main point. Hope I didn't spark a rant by mistake. Careless talk costs lives.

Feel exactly the same, except the babies bit.

I think this is basically the main problem. If Ashley owned a credible business with a decent logo and reputation then I doubt we'd be having the same reaction. The problem is having a brand like Sports Direct plastered all over a holy place like SJP is a bit like watching your sister being violated by a sweaty charver.

I thought our fans were really poor - I have never known them to be so quiet. Thought the Accy fans were brilliant though and it was refreshing to hear a different repertoire for a change. I thought just going there for a shite game like this was a pretty big achievement. To be fair there was very little to get them excited.

Surely transfer lists are public by definition? The press will obviously know who is on them. I agree we need to take all this with a pinch of salt though, with claim and counter-claim in the press. It doesn't matter anyway, if Taylor really hasn't rejected £40k then he'll sign, if he has rejected it he won't sign. We'll know soon enough.
-
No it didn't. Krul pulled off two or three excellent saves whereas there keeper had little to do aside from the goals and a couple of routine saves. Well, true, but they also scored two freak goals and we dominated possession hugely. If we had been a bit more clinical going forward we could easily have ended up with 5 or 6. Maybe I phrased it wrong, I meant it could have easily turned out much worse for them.

For sure, at the right level.

In his interview i got the impression that the club arent budging on their offer, Hughton wants him to stay but they both dont think Taylor will drop his demands. He kept saying its a club matter so its been taken out of his hands in all fairness. This contract has went on for months now, risking him going into September still far off agreeing is poor business on our part though, the transfer list was the only option to either force his hand or force him out. Aye, I understand why it's been done, just seems a bit premature. Although if the negotiations have been going on for ages, then fair enough I suppose. At the end of the day the club won't be budging, they need to reduce everyone's wages. So it's up to Steve I suppose.
-
If we want to keep him and are continuing negotiations then putting him on the transfer list was an insane move.

Pleased for Kazenga, if he can step up a little bit more he'll have a chance of the team. Bit of a non-event really, the scoreline flattered Accrington quite a bit. First meeting of the clubs, hopefully will be the last for a while. Some of our selections were weird, didn't we have about 6 forwards on the pitch? Ranger is probably the least equipped to play wide of any player I've seen in recent times. Mad respect for anyone who travelled, was proud to see our fans performing well as always.
