Do the French press have close family members of the Marseille management hostage or something? Bizarre how many stupid quotes they're coming out with.
-
TBH, we should never have let his contract situation get to this point. Now we're obviously going to have to sell him for next to nothing.
-
Surely that must be made up? They only transfer listed him about an hour ago.
-
The ironic thing is that he sort of fits into the kind of player we would be looking to sign ATM. Obviously not at those wages, but still... seems he would fit with the culture of our squad at the moment (if he wasn't hated by A-Train and others).
-
I think this is what's driving it, pure financial prudence basically. We seem to have worked out what the wage structure needs to be and we're now seeing the effects of it being implemented. Yes, it will mean missing out on some transfer targets. Yes, it will mean some players leaving. On the other hand, it will mean an end to spunking untold millions on overpaid wasters. I don't think Taylor is one of those, but he has to fall into line as well.

Accrington Stanley v Newcastle United - Kadar'snt injured btw.

Fingers crossed I can drive from central London to Oxford in time for KO, watching it at my bro's house. I really wish it was an 8pm kick off. -
I'd almost forgotten he played for us TBH.
-
Good question.. could be why he is asking for £60k I fucking hope not. I'd be furious if we had broken the wage structure to sign Campbell. If we did we should have just given the money to Taylor and preserved his sell-on value.
-
If the press is to be believed every footballer is on 100k a week with a steady supply of fresh virgins though. Who can blame the madman for asking for a mere 60?
-
But surely the club would be right to shift blame onto him, because he would be to blame, no? Yes thats my point, no? The natural reaction of fans is to blame the fat bastard for everthing, by doing this(if its all true) any chance of blame is lifted from them back to Taylor. Ah right, I thought you were criticising Ashley for trying to shift blame.

Wayne Routledge signs 3 year deal with Swansea
AyeDubbleYoo replied to clintdempsey's topic in Football
I don't find Routledge frustrating at all, it's just a lazy stereotype to criticise his decision making and final ball - I think both are decent enough. -
Where did all that money Benny spent go? On a legion of average fullbacks I think.

The first ever meeting of these two clubs apparently. -
He's taking a big risk TBH, he's not a youngster any more and he's not guaranteed to regain his fitness or his form. Interesting to see where I ends up, if I back tracks and signs then I won't begrudge him 40k though, he's been a decent servant.
-
It's for players who are worth 45k. If they're worth more I'm sure we could stretch it for the absolute stars of the team. So yes, 45k tops at the moment. I don't think we could stretch it, it would undermine the whole point.
-
To be fair, it could just be part of wage negotiations... you ask for something and the employer offers something lower. Maybe the club have overreacted or forced his hand with this? Just saying.

The Magedia Thread - Sunderland suck trollolololol
AyeDubbleYoo replied to Rocker's topic in Football
FFS, Carroll has never been selected, Defoe is injured and Wilshere is a young lad who's only played a handful of Premiership games. Sports journos are crazy, it shouldn't be allowed. -
You think he's worth 60k a week? Even if he is, it's a moot point under our current wage restrictions. If you're going to have a wage structure, you can't break it for anyone. It undermines the financial side and the team spirit.
-
I don't really want to see him go, he can be a good player when fit and on form... if that ever happens again. He does seem a bit mental though, always has. If he isn't fitting in with the new 3 Musketeers attitude then he should look elsewhere. Not really happy to see him go, but I can understand it.
-
It never has been and it never will be. I know but it should be. I know but it isn't.

Fucking arrogant Manc wanker, he thinks the Glazers should whack all profit from other businesses into MUFC. Could you imgaine what this cunt would be like if MUFC profit went & paid the wages of a load Mall cops. Think it's more a case of objecting to not repaying the debt the Glazers generated when buying the club. Not that I know much about this, must admit!
-
Seems like a lot of their business is founded on mental levels of debt. Not the only ones to find out the credit boom doesn't last forever I suppose.
