  1. Saddest thing is that all hope of progress and rebuilding is now gone, this is our permanent situation. At least before I could delude myself that we would be taken over and rebuild with a proper owner and manager.
  2. For sure, in fact I don't buy that Ashley is malicious in any way. He's just fucking useless.
  3. Now I think you're right, it's all about putting the club in a position to be sold for a higher price. But I think this whole fiasco started because he wasn't treating it as a business, he was treating it as a toy.
  4. Nearly in tears reading that.
  5. I've already received at least 3 texts from friends saying they'd love to kill him.
  6. Perversly the best way to get rid of Ashley is for us to get promoted this season. If we don't we will be stuck with him indefinitely.
  7. I get tired of typing this, but I'm pretty sure he hasn't taken anything out of the club. I'm sure he wants to sell, but the offers haven't been forthcoming so he's gambling (again) that he can get us promoted without spending much money and sell us as a more attractive proposition when we're in the prem.
  8. Commercial suicide for any potential sponsors, I'd have thought. Brings about as much prestige to your brand as sponsoring Robert Mugabe. Not only can you be associated with a joke of a football club as it goes through its worst period in recent history, but you can alienate hundreds of thousands of potential consumers and step right into the firing line. Can't see them queuing up for that sweet deal.
  9. I'd say some of those players you mention are the reason why we went down in the first place. Course they are, I never suggested otherwise. We still need them to get us back up. What so we can come straight back down again? Some fans are more bothered about how it will look to other supporters in terms of attendances than doing it to help the club long term. The guy is cancer, he needs cutting out! Eh? I'm not sure what you're arguing with me about here. Obviously we want to go up don't we? Even if we do go straight down again. I'm not saying I love the players, but I want them to win games and do well obviously. I'm confused.
  10. Funnily enough I think this issue is one that fan protests could have an impact on. No sponsor wants to piss off hundreds of thousands of customers... a pledge never to refer to the new name or use the products of the sponsor might have some effect on potential suitors.
  11. Imagine the little internal cringe of pain though, everytime a TV station or radio presenter mentions Sports Direct Park. It doesn't bear thinking about.
  12. Not sure I'd actually do anything if it came to it, but I've never hated someone I don't know as much. And I'm a chilled cat.
  13. Outgoings will be the killer in January. If we lose Enrique, Colocinni, Nolan (not that I rate him) and the like... we'll be fucked. Now that there's no hope for the immediate future I wouldn't be surprised if the likes of S Talyor are considering their futures as well.
  14. I'd say some of those players you mention are the reason why we went down in the first place. Course they are, I never suggested otherwise. We still need them to get us back up.
  15. There's no way to force him out. He knows the fans despise him but he's still here. Theoretically, if it was possible to reduce the gates to about 5000 for the rest of the season, we might get somewhere. (But then the players would be affected and we'd probably not go up anyway.)
  16. I think new grounds are totally different, they don't have any history and so can be called anything. An existing ground with years of heritage is another matter. If it is renamed we should all vow never to type, say or refer to the new name. We don't need money that much.
  17. If he was going to be made permanent at all though, the minimum credible contract offer would be 2 years I guess. If Ashley wants to get us up and then put the club back on the market, he has to at least try to hide that from the players/management/fans. If he'd made Hughton manager to the end of the season it would have been too obvious what was going on. Just a theory!
  18. But he took this money out of the club? Yes, he did. Thanks for that. Again, how and what evidence is there?
  19. Not wishing to defend Mike at all (even I now realise he's a cunt)... but how did he take 10m out of the club?
  20. I'd like to agree that we'll be spending on players TT, but nothing he's done so far has made any sense... don't see why he should start now.
  21. I hate this, but bearing in mind the club's situation and the economy it would be madness to sell us now for a reduced price. I hoped he would do it, but I'm not surprised he isn't.
