It’s possible, but I think it’s a bit of a leap to think Howe will never use them ever. He’s been trying to force results this season and he’s never really given up on a player before.

I do think it would be nice if a club didn’t just push the sack manager button and instead try to work to improve the overall situation. And it would be impressive by Howe to work well with Wilson and co and make exciting signings this summer.

Possibly because we can’t dominate the ball and are prone to mistakes, teams know that if they keep working until the whistle they will get chances.

Signing a player in summer and his replacement in January is fairly unusual TBF.

Not a fair comparison really, those managers didn’t do anything for their clubs.

I don’t think the players have given up on the manager, it’s end of season territory with not much to play for and a couple want out. But I don’t have any sense he’s lost the dressing room or anything like that.

Yeah exactly. My view is he’s had one bad summer but one where the right setup wasn’t in place to help us do well.

Yeah good question, we have to hope he can but we’ll see. I can’t see him leaving so personally I would just play him for the rest of the season.

Not the most generous view

I expect a very difficult end to the season TBH, I don’t think it’s realistic to expect much else. I think the excitement will hopefully return once we refresh the squad and take a few months off. Personally I would be just as nervous under a new manager, although I am nervous now.

I don't really buy this, Elanga is never going to produce that highlight reel the way he's playing now, yet he is capable of it. IMO he's struggled to handled the move and is making far more mistakes than before due to hesitance and low confidence. As well as the generally non-functioning team I guess. He's by no means world class but he should be doing a lot better than he is now.

As I’ve said before, I think those changes were intended to happen this season, just every signing failed. It’s not that Howe loves Murphy, it’s that Elanga has failed. It’s not that Howe loves Burn (although I’m sure he does) it’s that Botman has been perma crocked.
