Because they've sold one of their best players?
-
I wish they'd make their minds up, is he going to Everton, Man City or Liverpool?
-
Fair article, exactly why we couldn't continue with the financial state we were in. Although to a certain extent those clubs owned by billionaires will always be OK, I mean the owners have enough money to finance the clubs indefinitely if they wanted. And economic downturns are never permanent. And for the fans, a lot of things will be sacrificed before the season ticket goes - even though we were disappointed with the Bolton attendance that's still a lot of people investing £30+ every week. And those that don't will mostly be paying a Sky subscription instead, ensuring another revenue stream for the premiership.

So Man City are buying Owen and Berbatov? I think not.
-
Off for lunch now, hopefully Smudger will be an Everton player by the time I get back. I may be a while...
-
Oh don't worry he is definitely a playaaaa! From his myspace and the photos of him in training he seems like a decent lad, good character and a bit of fun as well. Hope he does well.

Do you ever look at the web stats for this forum admins? Would be interesting to see the graph for visits today!

In the same way that a ferrari could be a replacement for a skoda, yes.

I had a go at a bloke in the pub a few seasons ago for calling Keiron Dyer a 'black bastard', and that was one of our own players. Other than that though I haven't heard a anything like that actually at the match. I do think there is some subconcious racism in the way black players are thought of as having a 'poor footballing brain' or 'poor attitude' etc etc. Seems to be code for 'young successful black man'.

Well it's not like you have to leave days to get to Liverpool, it's only a few hours drive. May as well train one last time. Clutching at straws?
-
I think we need a playmaker even if Owen stays, which I hope (and think) he will.
-
My thoughts exactly. Plus it increases the novelty song possibilities.
-
He does though; his own. It's a shame it's still going. He's checking he's still alive.
-
Nacho, Xisco, Jonas... will we sign anyone who actually uses the correct name? We need a Billy Johnson or David Smith pronto.
-
I coming round to 'sisko', as it seems to be a common nickname for people called 'francisco'. Not 100% sure though.
-
Xisco inferno?
-
Got to be a lot of song potential for Xisco... the thong song in some form, 'Xisco inferno', all sorts.

Leroy's been getting a bad press recently like, he's a player that could do a job in the premiership. Not saying I want us to sign him, but he's lively, dangerous and not afraid of a shot. Always came up with very important goals for Reading. probably Keanes lates piece in the "team full of arrogant pricks" jigsaw, cisse, diouf, chimbonda and now lita please god i hope he is not coming to newcastle He's tiny as well, saw him shopping in Reading and I must've been a good foot taller! Can't be much more than 5'5". We aren't signing him, so I wouldn't worry like.
-
Not sure what his fitness and mobility is like now, but they definitely do need someone like him in midfield, and older head to slow the game from time to time.

Nobody really knows, all I'm sure of is I fucking hope he goes... even if we have to pay Everton.

Nope, the Milner sale demonstrates how insane things are getting. He cost more than Nasri FFS.

Morality really hasn't been transgressed as much as some people seem to think. Barton has done many things that are objectionable, and most people have said so, and condemned him. He's broken the law of the land, and the rules of the game, and he's been (or being) punished for all of that. Now he's on his way back, and he's getting another chance. Not much wrong with that in my opinion.
-
If we'd signed Malouda when he joined Chelsea I'd have been very impressed, so not going to say it's a bad move now. He hasn't turned into a bad player in a season.

Don't know what Harry's up to to be honest. Sold Muntari already, what was the point in signings Defoe and Crouch if he's going to have to sell other good players? Seems he's over-reached a bit with signings. Some of the 'poor man' quotes he's come out with have been embarrassing as well, even if you are skint, desperate for loan deals and need to sell - keep it to yourself mate.
