  1. Well done to the TUs, you lads do make a real difference. I wonder if it's not better for you to be spread out all over the ground? Like mofo says, some people are embarassed to start a song, but will happily join in. Maybe a group of 25-50 in each part of the ground would be more useful in acheiving your aims?
  2. CoachHTT, my hero Well done mate, this has needed saying for a good few days now... we really need to get perspective on how much change the club has been through in the last few weeks and how much better off we are now. Like you say, if we have to go through a season of transition and a not-so-great transfer window, we'll just have to grit our teeth and remember the bigger picture.
  3. To be fair, I think there's only 1 person panicking about this... Aye, but have a look at some of the other mental threads today, just thought it was getting a bit out of hand
  4. Nobody really knows what's going on with transfers 99% of the time, whether they be th BBC, newspapers, websites, or whoever. We need to stop pressing the panic button at every bit of press speculation.
  5. People, WE DON'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THIS, IT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN.
  6. This cannot possibly be true, nobody connected to Newcastle United is this stupid, and I even include Roeder in that. To let one of our best prospects go for £3million? No chance at all.
  7. I don't want to bring my misery in to such a jolly thread. I thought about it though You are saying were deluded to think we could fix our problems in the 1st window. I don' think we can, but we could of done a much better job that whats happened so far. Citeh are embarrassing us ATM, they got a new manager AFTER ours was appointed, they got their takeover AFTER we got ours. There's really no excuse not to release funds for defenders. I see where you're coming from, but I think there will be funds for new defenders if the right players are found... I don't think we have missed out on many this window because of lack of money - maybe because we were a less attractive proposition than other clubs. Sven is a bigger draw than Sam internationally, we have to accept that. I also think City are miles further away from having a quality side than we are, although they have caught up a bit.
  8. Guys, take a look over at the bright side of life thread! Seriously, I think you are deluding yourselves if you expect a new manager, owner and board to come in and fix all our problems within the first transfer window. Let Mort complete the review of the club, wait until the window is closed, then we can justify getting worked up about lack of progress. They way I see it, we are moving forward already and both Allardyce and Mort seem to know what is required to put things right. They just haven't found the right defenders, that's all.
  9. Fair enough to a certain extent, but I think running a story on front page, back page and website that is clearly completely made up (and already contradicted by the club) is a bit much... and just the latest in a long line of inaccuracies, fabrications and speculation from Oliver. The guy's ratio of correct stories must be about 1:100, that's bad even for a sports journo.
  10. http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/chroniclesport/tm_headline=oba-and-out%26method=full%26objectid=19547273%26siteid=50081-name_page.html "Oba and out? Jul 31 2007 by Alan Oliver, Evening Chronicle SAM ALLARDYCE is ready to sacrifice Obafemi Martins in a bid to try to sign a couple of top-class defenders. The word is already out in football that United will listen to offers for their little Nigerian striker – and this will leave many supporters dismayed." --------------------------------------------------- No Alan, no he isn't.
  11. As long as he's at Newcastle, we'll all be happy bunnies I suspect. But I'd say he can be effective at CM, especially with an aggressive player like Barton alongside. If/when Dyer leaves this is even more of a possibility.
  12. Agreed! "We shall not, we shall not be moved...."
  13. At least with transfer windows we get concentrated nonsense from the papers for a couple of months, then we can relax a bit until January. Football must be the only field where journalists don't have to demonstrate an ability to uncover the truth and write about things that actually happen, and can just write what the fuck they like. That and celeb gossip of course...
  14. I thought people were just f****** up and forgetting to type their reply. Wasn't aware it was a genuine forum phenomenon. this
  15. Scoreboard - yes Local Hero - YES Cheerleaders - OF COURSE NOT
  16. So true, for the last couple of seasons it's been the best bit of most games! When I come back up for the match there's nothing else I want to hear.
  17. It didn't go into that much detail, the standards of reporting are slipping.
  18. After former Magpie Steven Glass, who was seen in a Garden Centre this Sunday
  19. Sadly he looks like he's on the way out, but I agree with this 100%. Booing your own players is completely pointless in every way, even if they are playing badly etc etc (which Dyer isn't).
