  1. If we were in the top flight this year we could quite easily finish anywhere from 11th to 20th. There are far too many s**** teams in the Premier League nowadays. Most of which we finished below last season, with alot of the players on the pitch currently. I don't think adding Routledge, Best, Simpson and Williamson to replace Duff, Martins, Owen, Beye and Bassong will change anything. maybe team morale, working for each other etc - making up for what they lack in quality compared to the aforemnetioned pampered superstars
  2. always a fan of wenger until we beat them 3-1 at highbury - whinged about their sending off (parlour?) but failing to mention it was still 1-1 when bellamy got (wrongly) sent off. remember SBR giving him some wise words about learning to lose graciously or something.
  3. yet we won away without our 3 best players (jose, loven, routledge) and our top scorer!!!!
  4. yup, good target men are usually a lot older as rely on brains rather than pace
  5. honestly given up on winning any more away games - hope we can at least draw them all and then get promoted on the back og winning at home.
  6. How were the CB's at fault? What on earth does a player have to do for an 8 btw? Routledge almost won the game by himself. We were average tonight man, first 30 mins were awful, even when they went to 10 men we kept giving them the ball from sloppy passes & clearances. 4-1 flattered us and i think would of probably would of been 2-1 if they had kept 11 men on. I was suprised you gave four players a rating of at least 8 for a fairly average overall performance. The defending for the goal was poor in general, everyone seemed to just stand still as Morrison put it in, Harper's positioning was a bit off as i feel he should of been able to push it wide at the speed it rolled in at. how would it have been 2-1. it was already 2-1 when they gave the pen away - red card or not it woulkd have been at least 3-1 to us. really hard to please some people sometimes.
  7. just got in. FREEZING ! good all round performance but guthrie MOM. from the moment loven grabbed the ball on the touchline to take the penalty it was a definite goal - he looked really focused and composed. definite penalty . second yellow as routledge looked set to score. great air shot from Best to set up taylor!
  8. hughton's quotes in the journal this morning are worrying http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2010/02/16/chris-hughton-backing-his-top-scorer-kevin-nolan-61634-25841795/
  9. if jonas not fit, wonder if van rental could play LW with kadar behind him. not ideal, but would rather have guthrie in middle. or even play raylor RW and routledge LW
  10. think if jonas and barton had been fit he would have been dropped
  11. poor poor performance but swansea need to stop moaning - for all their possesion how many decent chances did they create? we were always likely to get at least one decent chance - and we took it. tough. also sousa took off dyer - bad move and probably cost them the match.
  12. 4-1 even chopra scored - can't believe i let my brother have my ticket (for nowt as well!). also 3-1 at highbury same story, but glad i made sure i made it to the 4-3 at leeds a few days later.
  13. Forest away and Plymouth in the league to name two. just goes to show how shit my memory is. was it from the start in place of jonas or as sub?
  14. hopefully will get him to the world cup
  15. credit where its due though, he's never played lovelypants on the left wing
  16. they are, when it comes to creating an atmosphere
  17. playing in top of the table team surrounded by decent players and in front of a decent keeper, with a fanatical support home and away - that's got to get you stepping up your game and I think Hall will respond
  18. williamson - played 3 full 90mins in a row after such a long time without a first team game - really impressed. jonas - played well but sometimes you need to beat your man just the once and stick in a cross. was sat right behind loven for his second goal - seemed an impossible angle when he it!
  19. hughton got lucky that butt and smith both injured. hope he has learnt his lesson after leicester debacle. you don't always need a defnsive midfielder and its ok to play 2 wingers. also, lovenkrands undroppable - so much intelligent movement and play.
  20. kadar is a much more reliable centre half than hall. also has played at sjp before - would be a bit worried going in with 2 home debuts (hall and van) and a second home appearance (williamson) for such an important game.
