  1. I'm pretty sure if we are moving now we'll either have him before the euros or not at all. He'll want it sorted before the euro's so he can focus.
  2. What? Is he just talking about tradition here? Probably hasn't watched the league since he left Newcastle's Unofficial 2nd Reserves.
  3. I'd think it's more him wanting to leave so he can relax and concentrate on his game at the euro's with pressure from Bilic.
  4. Aye but modric has already played 22 games for Croatia. Viana had not even played for Portugal from my recollection.
  5. Quinn seems a bit odd like. Even if they do buy the strips from the official store the maker is Umbro. Guess who has shares in Umbro.
  6. More of a 4-5-1 I think. It's the Curbishley way.
  7. Brilliant feeling actually looking forward to games now isn't it Yeah it's like supporting a team that actually plays football as opposed to trying to stop other teams playing.... and failing.
  8. Yeah. His only one as well. Lets hope for more. I can see us beating them reasonably easily. I know a few hammers and they are less than confident about their defence being able to cope with our front 3 and they think they'll get overrun in midfield.
  9. I'm surprised you were that positive since you thought we should have stuck with Allardyce instead of taking a risk bringing Keegan back. ...and you still maintain Owen isn't a good finisher. I said he's not a World class finisher which he isn't. Perhaps that's the difference between going to games and seeing some of the chances he misses compared to watching highlights over the Internet. Most modern strikers miss alot of chances. Name a better goal poacher. Try digging the original thread up and you might have a clue what we're on about rather than jumping in without a clue. I know what you're talking about mate. My point about Owen remains. He said Owen wasn't a world class finisher. He clearly is, just not his all round game nowadays. Being a World class poacher doesn't make you a World class finisher. True, but he is a world class finisher in my eyes. It depends what you classify as a World Class Finisher. I would say it means you have converted a high percentage of your chances at international level against quality opposition and have a good games to goals ratio something like 1 goal every 2 games. Both of which Owen has done. Define what makes a world class finisher. http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=51424.msg1263711#msg1263711 Interesting Slant. Who would you consider a world class finisher in your eyes in the world today? As has been said in that thread there isn't many now, Eto'o, Henry, RVN are the 3 stand out. As I said I'd trust Viduka in a one on one situation more than I would Owen, Owen's strength is using his footballing brain to get into the positions where he'll get more chances to finish than Viduka. Owen has a higher goals to shots ratio this season than Eto'o. Therefore, by your reasoning is a better finsiher. Owen Shots:28 Goals:10 Eto'o Shots:58 Goals:15 http://www.squadgod.com/players/MichaelOwen http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/stats?id=11718 The difference being Eto'o is a player who shoots from anywhere within 30 yards of goal where as Owen doesn't, I'm talking about what I'd consider to be goalscoring opportunities. So basically what your saying is a world class finisher is someone in say the top 10 of the world, within 10 yards of the Goal one on one with a keeper of equal ability with an equal unchanging global weather system, uniform pitches, equal levels of fitnessetc...... Basically what I'm saying is you can't decide what a world class finisher is by your theory. Every thing has to be exactly the same. I'll stick by saying if you stick it in the back of the net more than most then you're a world class finisher. EDIT: I think we should end this debate, it's pointless and must be well annoying for others.

  15. It would if they could understand how to defend against it which will take until the summer I reckon. You have to change you system quite drastically if you purely go out with the job of stopping us scoring. I think the best way is to play 532 against us which no-one does. Pack the midfield and have enough defenders to cope with the three strikers and the runs of the full backs ( who would be tracked by wing backs). You really need one of your cb's to go man to man on Owen and another cb who can keep up with the pace and strength of Oba rendering Dukes hold up play useless but you still have the threat of him around the box with his quick turning shots.
  16. So desperate they did and then Chelsea nicked him and Man U ended up with 10 million quid for nowt.
  17. Don't know if its been mentioned but from the BBC Gossip Column "Everton manager David Moyes is tracking Newcastle full-back Steven Carr, whose contract expires at the end of the season." (Daily Mirror)
  18. You're not missing anything other than helping me understand why the players always looked like they had no idea what they where supposed to do when he was in charge.
  19. Can't really understand what he's trying to say other than you're pushing on too far and something about only the left winger being oon the left wing.
  20. "I hate their club, the people, their city and everything they stand for. Everything thats wrong with modern England IMO." Jesus wept!!!!! Well, if you're content with the bridges shopping centre, and the largest collection of Walter Wall's carpets/Tony's tiles (shops with annoying adverts on Metro radio) within a 5 mile radius, and not to mention Europe's capital of culture, Hendon, then don't ever f****** step foot in our city, "JimmyMonty73". It's the oddest football forum I have ever seen that. I was looking at it the other day to see what they thought their chances where and couldn't actually find an article discussing how they thought the Derby would go. There is like 200 threads created each minute on useless bollocks.
  21. Yeah, I wouldn't pay more than 3M for him with his injury problems or say 1.5M now then 1.5M after 25 appearances.
  22. True but if you do the same with Faye and you'll get the same result. I'm not saying duff should play. I'm just saying it's a pointless statistic. Yes Faye is a cb and Duff should score more but Duff has had a career threatening injury this season which Zog hasn't. Ship Zog out..... He doesn't want to be here, you can tell by the way he plays. Lose the goals scored by N'Zogbia this season and we're three points worse off, do the same with Duff and we still have 38 points.
  23. Looks decent but 18M is a bit much for someone who has had a few good games in the Prem. Marcus Stewart looked good for one season and scored a boat load. You need to see people over a period of time to judge that if once the defenders in the league get used to the way the lad plays, his threat can be nullified.
