Yes they're big earners, but at the same time I'm sure they'd rather play Premiership football as well. They could easily go back up a league because the majority of clubs in the lower half of the table would probably be prepared to take the risk with them.

The quality of the other manager isn't specified, just the fact it isn't Shearer. Think of it as a roll of the dice by the new owners - could be better, could be worse. In that case then it may as well just be a question of would you rather be rich or poor? That would be an obvious answer, unless you're Mike Ashley of course

Money with a shite manager is pointless, as proven during the Souness era, so for me it has to be Shearer. Moyes is a great example of what can be acheived with a good, sensible system.

Which is incidently what Shepherd weighs, so I guess it evens itself out.

Explain some of the logic behind his decisions since he bought the club then. If he's shown one thing, it's that you cannot predict the man's motives because common sense (and logic) go out of the window where he is concerned. Bad decisions and crap businessman. Doesn't wash with me. Firstly, he's a successful businessman away from football. Edgar Truth is I think we all know what to expect from about 90% of them and have so for years, so reading that absolute shite didn't come as much of a surprise tbh. Make Alan Shearer ass-man at Hartlepool? This is nothing against Hartlepool but why should he not be allowed to have a go? He's only managed us for 8 games with an appaulling team that wasn't his ffs it's not rocket science. Gareth Colgate is a young manager who has been given a chance and may not be doing too well but nobody knows what the future holds with him, Zola didn't have a good start at West Ham but people are singing his praises now after he was given, yes that's right, time. We all know it's a gamble but it's a one I think the majority of us would feel comfortable with at a time where we need someone we can trust in an extremely dark chapter for the club and whilst it may not be instant success, I strongly believe Shearer could turn out to be the right man for us.

I bet he's so delusional he probably thinks he had us in contention for a Champions League spot until he left or something Wish he'd fuck off
