Another thing that annoys me is that they make these decisions without consulting the fans in any shape or form beforehand. They're just coming across as lying cunts who will no doubt piss on our history and culture again in the future, regardless of how well we're doing. What good is becoming successful if we have to sell our history and our character? The thing that annoys me is that the 'requirements' Pardew has set in place only seem to apply to HBA, whilst the likes of Obertan get extended runs in the team, despite being absolutely gash on a worryingly consistent basis. Totally agree with you by the way, HTT. Good post.

How many points has he cost us? The majority of the goals we concede come from our right-hand side. I can't count how many times this season Simpson has invited someone inside and they go on to score or assist someone else. Better yet, look at his lack of marking for the goals today, as well as his positioning, and you'll get the idea. I'll not be as harsh as to put all of the blame onto him for today's loss mind, as the entire team were awful. I would say that he is prone to basic errors almost every game, though, and 7 times out of 10 he's involved, or at fault when we concede.

People are on about how many points he's cost us, I've highlighted 2 that we've gained because of what he's done. That has nothing to do with defending at all, the clearances have. For the 2 points he's helped us gain he's cost us a lot more due to his constant inviting people inside, backing off, or being way out of position. He should not be in the first team.

He also forced a mistake out of Heitinga which made it 1-0 against Everton, we won 2-1 so that was worth 2 points as we won instead of drawing. That doesn't really even the scales out though, does it? Forcing a mistake out of the opposition's keeper has nothing to do with his defensive qualities.

Exactly. It's all well and good saying the criticisms of HBA are fair and that he needs to get used to the game or he's not pulling his weight in the team, but what about Obertan? Perch? Danny fucking Simpson? It seems Pardew only wants to aim criticism at HBA when he has to know that Obertan and Simpson are offering even less than HBA supposedly does. Surely he's not that clueless. It's a complete joke and slap in the face that he'd choose to bring on a youngster and Lovenkraps ahead of him.
