And yet he didn't question the appointment of Steve McClaren.

7,000 locked out that day. Every match after that was all ticket. Remember the panic when they locked the gates at the Gallowgate with 1000s legging it round to the Leazes as word went round that there was still a bit of space in there as we stood there smug watching them all because we had our season tickets. I think that was the first game I went to with my mates, we were fifteen. We'd managed to score some bottles of K cider for on the train, but being obviously underage drinking them was a bit tricky. I wasn't even aware there was so many locked out. I just remember the police on horses separating the queues, two abreast lads. All that s****. Trying not to get drooled on by the horse! It was even something mental like £3.75 to get in in. I was at that game with CP40, Quinn and O'Brien combined with some neat one touch stuff before Quinn scored. I think.

Money, no league offers then same, except maybe the top Spanish teams or PSG. So why should they move on, their agents would be mad to shift their asset *cough client I mean.

Talented kids get their skills coached out of them by managers being more interested in formations and tactics rather than developing players for the future.

None, we really don't have any greats and rarely produce them. Also, we have way to much hype about anyone that looks half decent. They then get a bumper contract and fast tracked into the England squad.

[emoji38] Actually he's being interviewed for Head Coach. Chris Powell will be manager according to the Mirror. Once an England manager, now reduced to being someones lacky in the championship. The bloke is an absolute fcking dudd. I'm sure he had a similar role for QPR before he was with us and Derby. Still an epic dud.

Flat nosed hoof monkey returns.

Charlton Athletic. Howard Wilkinson was in charge and his little side kick. His little side kick was still furiously writing stuff down with minutes to go.

Just call him a twat, dont bring his race into it.

Not sure why he needs to break in, plenty of empty seats.

My first game was against Fulham in the very early 80s I think, we had just signed Keegan. We were losing 2-1 and won it 3-2 in the dying minutes.

I agree with Fugazi.

They were two separate matches. The Vinny/Gazza incident was at Plough lane in the league earlier in the season, but the Mirandinha/Beasant one was up here in the FA Cup 3rd round - that was my first ever match too, went in the corner with my older cousin. Another good one from that season, was Chelsea at home, not long after that Wimbledon game. We won 3-1, with Gazza scoring and 2 from Mirandinha. He was being subbed, and didn't want to go off, as he was on a hattrick.. players having to usher him off. Never seen the goals from that game since, and they've never turned up on YT or on that Facebook page that cover those years. Ahh ok, it all meldged into one event in my head!

I watched that at home on sky sports with my old man and a few friends, cracking night of football. We wore our reverse blue kit with the paint swooshes on it and sheff wed wore some weird white with pins stripes number and yellow shorts.

Get your memories in here. I was at the match in 1988/89 (I think) when we played Wimbledon in the FA, where Vinny Jones grabbed gazza by the nads. I always remember the incident at the end of the match where Mirandina ran up and flying kicked David Beasent in the back. The still had the fences up then, I remember my old man raging at Vinny Jones through the fence. That was the year Wimbledon went on to win the cup.
