Fulham this year, Man City away last year.

I sense a big sigh of relief. That's putting it lightly.

How has Maloney been for Villa? everytime ive seen him play he hasnt been all that good but tbf i havent seen a great deal of him The fans love him, he always does ok when given the chance, he just doesn't get the chance that often. Being as we have absolutely no right side, I'd stick Young on the right and Maloney on the left, it seems to work. MON just doesn't do it often enough.

YOU FUCKING BEAUTY! Sunderland 1 - Mighty Fucking Villa 1 - Super Shaun Maloney.

Swindon Supermarine a goal down at home to Chippenham. Who'd have thunk it?

Come on, Reading!

Brummie, Hows Reo-Coker settled? Supporters split pretty much 50-50 on him. He tackles very, very well indeed, but his passing is sometimes terrible. I'm not massively convinced, but then again, i wasn't hugely convinced by Young when he first signed, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Come on you claret and blue boys, for fuck's sake.

They were awful days in many ways, but in other ways they were - I'm struggling for the right word - not great days, but memorable days. Try explaining to most younger supporters today what it was like going to an away match in the 1980s, it is so different. The concept of walking around someone else's town with colours on, as if it is the most normal thing in the world. How times have changed. One of the scariest places I ever went was Ayresome Park. Now, that was a shit hole, but back then it was an intimidating shit hole. Look at the Riverside now and it is about as intimidating as the Wednesbury branch of IKEA.

They absolutely hate us, that makes me laugh. But at the same time, they'll all admit that what really riles them is that the rivalry is all one way. Although I personally dislike them having had some bad times on the walk through the subways from the station to Highfield Road in the 1980s. Including one memorable time which included uninterrupted fighting pretty much from the ground exit to the station, and then when we got back to New Street, the Zulus waiting for us. Happy days.

Milner looks like a 1940s footballer, though. He's 80 years old in my book. he plays like one too. I'm a massive Milner fan. If you took a straw poll of Villa fans asking how many would want us to re-sign him in January, I reckon it would be 80 percent in favour at least.

I know you lot hate Spurs, but I don't know why. It is West Ham you should be hating. What a fucking horrible, nouveau riche, more money than sense, yo-yo club with ridiculously inflated pretensions they are. They manage to stay in the top flight for a couple of seasons, average 34K and all of a sudden they're Real Madrid. And although Speccy is a bit wrong to sweep human rights abuses under the carpet quite so easily, he is spot on with his point that Fleet St loves West Ham. A club which has achieved the square root of absolutely fuck all and is the dictionary definition of 'mid table pointlessness'.
-
The most shocking thing about that original article is the fact that Michael Owen is only just turning 28. Jesus Christ. I feel old.
-
Absolutely spot on. Until we address the underlying fucked-up-ness of the game, nothing will really change.

The walk beside the river getting to the ground nice as well, especially on a nice day like it was last season. Yes, we played down there in the spring last year. A few pints (in a pub away from the chanting hordes of other Villa fans), a spot of lunch, a stroll along the river to the ground, a nice atmosphere within, a lovely old Archibald Leitch stand, intelligent home fans, Krispy Kreme donuts sold in the away end, the cottage itself, it is a fantastic day out. I've done 40-50 away grounds following the Villa, and CC is without a doubt my favourite day out (if you base it on the all-round package rather than the actual football experience) Wullie - get it sorted, man. You won't regret it. -

I should think so. We're good away from home. -

Ah, Fulham away, definitely one of the best away days in my book. Should be especially lovely on a crisp Saturday evening just before Christmas. Any of you wavering about going, go. They've got a neutral end (which just becomes an extra bit of away end with anyone who takes decent support) and it isn't a scary place to sit in home stands, either. Lovely little ground, with the best setting of any PL ground. -

Well said mate. I'd also chip in that against us last week, Flamini in particular was an absolute cunt, goading the home fans when he scored, same with Adebayor. Not to mention Flamini and Eboue waving imaginary yellow cards at every opportunity. I fucking hate that.
-
Possibly but everyone played like that against them last season aswell. I mitigation, I'd point out that missing Fabregas, Hleb (who was majestic last week) and Flamini is going to take the wind out of anyone's sails. What a cunt, Eboue. Incidentally, I'm Sky+ing MOTD and just started watching it from the start, hence my out of sync comments
-
I wonder. Did BSA and Southgate decide on the way to play Arsenal after seeing the way we played them in the second half last week? I wonder if they may have been "found out"?
-
Incidentally, Campbell, Johnson and Distin were awesome today.
-
Just back. Portsmouth are very, very good indeed. Amusingly enough, Redknapp reacted to stick fromt he crowd today. He ignored "You're supposed to be in jail" but snapped at "Bummed in the showers, you're getting bummed in the showers" and flicked the v's at the Holte and Trinity. Fair play to him, though, I like him, and he's put a decent squad together.

As an outsider, I'm clearly not talking with as much insight as you lot, but that first post oozes common sense.
