  1. Seriously, Stoke is one of the few away grounds I would still think twice before visiting. Stoke as a place is a hole, it is as if all the dross of Birmingham and Manchester met halfway between the two, and formed some kind of parallel reality in the middle.
  2. The BBC always, always take the opportunity to show Man United, regardless of the opposition
  3. re ticket allocations, for Cup matches, aren't the host club obliged to offer 15 percent of capacity? Although i think this is subject to police approval. I can't see West Midlands Police approving us giving Man United 6,500 tickets. Things have been a bit "edgy" this season since we moved away fans.
  4. Look at this. Man United's 3rd round draws in the last few years 2001-2002 Aston Villa 2002-2003 Portsmouth 2003-2004 Aston Villa 2004-2005 Exeter City 2005-2006 Burton Albion 2006-2007 Aston Villa 2007-2008 Aston Villa
  5. See above. Honestly, every cunting year.
  6. You're not fucking joking, we get them in the third round every fucking year. It is a conspiracy.
  7. Having played them yesterday, it is more obvious than ever that if you give Arsenal space, they will slaughter you. For 35 minutes of the first half yesterday, this is what happened to us. Probably the best spell of passing I've seen at VP in over a decade. However, second half we started closing them down and playing our own passing game, and the difference was amazing. I think we had over 60 percent possession in the second half. That's the way to do it, get in their faces, get Barton crunching tackles in, tell Smith to be a nasty cunt - they won't really know how to reply to it, and it gives you time to play your own game. That is, obv, a gross simplification, and although we did the above we still got beaten, but they're a very good side indeed.

    Ashley Young.......

Ah, he's a young sportsman, full of energy. He's cracked one off to some bird on the internet (incidentally, her explanation of how she figured he must be a footballer and worked out who he is is ridiculous). I watched him stick about 10 quality crosses into the Arsenal box today. He can wank himself into next week as far as I'm concerned so long as he continues in that vein.
  9. It's the belief in their system which always impresses me. Even when things go wrong the system always remains, the players exactly what their roles are and that in turn reflects in how they play as, more often than not, things go right and not wrong. What I detest about them (and always have) is the way they always try to rub the opposition and their fans' noses in it. Today it was epitomised by Flamini et al taunting the Holte as they celebrated their equaliser. Cnuts the lot of them! They had the most witty away fan chant I've heard this season, though: "You need more foreigners, you need more foreigners" (to the 'that's why you're going down' tune) (which of course, is La Donna e' Mobile) (obv)
  10. Arsenal were awesome in the first half and played us off the park, but I am incredibly pleased with our performance in the second half, when we played some fantastic passing football, and looked the better side. They're a fantastic side, but you've got to take positives from things, and the way the crowd got behind our side in the second half and the way we played was excellent stuff. I agree, Hleb is awesome.
  11. Street park somewhere near the Fernhurst, the big away pub. Not a problem finding a spot.
  12. Don't forget what a godawful fucking mess City were at the end of last season, though. A much worse state than Newcastle. I'd have had a few quid on them to go down this year without the takeover.
  13. Sven's pedigree as a club manager was, and is, beyond reproach, so there can be no massive surprise that he is doing so well. Although Speccy skated over it, Corluka cost £8m and Garrido, what, 2m? He has spent a lot of money, but that's only a problem if he has spent it badly and, with the exception of Bianchi, he hasn't.
  14. Incidentally, why do people, when at away games, like to go to pubs *that* rammed with other supporters? I always like to find a decent boozer, bit of banter with home fans maybe.
  15. I feel kind of uneasy when we sing that song. We're singing about a disease which has blighted his life, after all. However, it appears to have taken off this year. New verse added last night "empty seats my lord, empty seats" which is a bit rich considering our attendances until this year have been ropey for a while, but hey ho, there's no place for logic in football

Full of ugly cunts eh? Six fingered mutants. Whatever happened to that Bolton fan who used to come on here? I'm amazed he hasn't been back gloating of late.

Thankfully i support Spurs. For what its worth, i think O'Neil is one of the best managers in the league and Villa have a very good team with strong players in near enough every position (could do with a couple of rb's and a out and out goalscorer mind) oh and maybe a left winger too. Errrrm. yeh i know Young plays there but isnt he far more effective on the right? yes and i know youve got Barry but isnt he better central? ok fair enough youve got Berger too but isnt he..........hmmmmmm crap? He can play either side, but is better on the left. It is a right side midfield player we need, ie Milner Barry has played central all this season. Berger is quality but needs to be 10 years younger

That's where you're wrong, Spec. On N-O one bums another in the face, not via the traditional method. PS he's not selling Cahill. He's on loan and had to persuade MON to let him go.
  21. Divvent worry - you've only got a month before the BBC reel it out again - as they have done for the past thirty-odd years. But as a neutral, the footage is one of the most evocative clips of English football ever. The kids in duffel coats bursting from behind the rope behind the goal, Radford running around with his hands up and - although he prob didnt have one, the footage seemed to hint he should have one - his big gut hanging out. That was when the Cup really meant something. You're a smashing lad, Brummie, but piss off. Soz Keef

  23. McGrath is the best defender I've ever seen play in the English league. The man was Godlike. And he did it all with fucked knees, never trained and was shitfaced for most of the matches.
