On paper Southgate has done a great job. 2 finals, a semi and a quarter final. However, whilst I appreciate football isn’t played on paper, some of the draws he’s had in the tournaments have been favourable to say the least. He’s also had some top quality players at his disposal. Recently he has dropped some of the underperformers from the squad but he done it too close to this tournament imo and then in the tournament he has been stubborn as fuck and completely misused his squad. Feel a better manager would’ve won something, but maybe I’m being harsh.

I think he is. Southgate is poor tactically and didn’t really put in place a style of football. Potter would do that.

I don’t think Howe has anything to be concerned about. IIRC he was the one Al-Rumayyan wanted but the others opted for Emery.

I cannot work out if this is positive or not. On one hand I expected it one day, albeit not this soon. And as others have said, it is likely they’ve been unable to match PIF and the Reuben’s investment and been forced into this move. However, I did expect them to stay on at the club in some capacity. Amanda posting on Instagram 11 weeks ago that she was staying only for this to happen does make me feel that this is not her decision and not been expected. The fact we appointed a top class Sporting Director less than a week ago does give me confidence that the ambition is there still. EDIT - I do wonder if this is possibly to streamline decision making and give Eales and Mitchell more of a say.

Absolutely agree with you. The club have given some of ours access behind the scenes at women’s games and friendlies but they just use it to swan around with their media passes on thinking they’re the dogs bollocks.
