  1. Oh, so it's just strong wind "inflating" their training tops?
  2. Having a stable CB partnership means we have the luxury of trying to bring in a "new Bassong" and give him some time to settle into English football.

    Leon Best

Oh for cripes sake, surely not. Leon Best being out for the season could relegate us
  4. Man, I don't want to believe that this isn't photoshopped

    U23s & Academy

I am honestly shocked beyond words that that was the best insult you could come up with in all of six minutes and fourty-two seconds.

67250 Pounds of the Carroll money gone
  7. I think we get the point you're so desperately trying to make.
  8. Best, Ireland and Enrique all still doubtful. So much for his new approach of ruling players out by the Wednesday before a game! Hopefully Jose and Best are both fit, bring Best in for Lovenkrands and Guthrie for Tiote. It does my head in that if I could have one out of that three fit, it would be Leon Best.
  9. Getting relegated isn't easy. Even in 2008/2009, when by all rights we should have been relegated five times over, we were one Damien Duff own goal away from limping to survival. You need to have a collapse of catastrophic proportions to get relegated, especially from the position we're in now. With the mental strength and resilience we have in the squad, I don't see that happening.
  10. Assuming that Nolan does the "easy passing" well, if he ends up getting the same amount of goals as a more creative AM gets assists, isn't he essentially doing the same thing? (In a much less pretty way, of course) i guess the point would be that in a 4 man midfield as the AM if he isn't dictating the game and providing the killer passes, someone else is doing it for him Hmm, I think that might be the lad we have playing out on the right.

  12. Desperate Google + massive backtracking
  13. The answer is "I don't like him and I saw him misplace a pass a couple of times so I let that vindicate my opinion."
  14. You'd think we already had an ample supply of mediocre strikers. Probably just the mail pulling a story out of their asses based on Pardew saying that they had a scout watching the Ireland game anyway.
  15. Aye, and it's all Kevin Nolan's fault
  16. A football supporter who wants his club to make sizeable profits for it's owner Alarm bells should start ringing if a large turnover is reducing year on year in comparison to it's competitors. Maybe people with a vested interest in that company should think twice before praising the management for running the company well financially by cutting pay and selling off assets. If you don't think turnover is important, I guess you think it should be quite easy for us to get back into Europe, the top 4, and even compete for the title? We did it before with a poor chairman hamstrung by a high wage bill, so now we have the dream team of Ashley, Llambias, Pardew & a low wage bill, it should be pretty easy to do. Man, I know you have an opinion and it will never change, but could you at least try to understand what he's trying to say before applying the usual straw man?
  17. If I had to compile a list of grievances against Mike Ashley, "added some weird shit to the stadium name that nobody really cares about" would be somewhere around No. 78

    Alan Pardew

Have to say that Colocho is well on his way to becoming one of the defining posters of this forum.

I was more impressed by opening day 2008/2009 against Man U than i was by any of those games that you mentioned. Now that was proving we were heading in a great direction.

It was only against Spurs that we were really proper epic good. The rest was.. Okay. Certainly miles better than the painful stuff we were exposed to immediately prior to and after KK.

    Buying to Sell

We don't have a buy-to-sell policy. Nobody has a buy-to-sell policy. In fact, nobody has any sort of daft "policy" that acts as doctrine to dictate every single transfer. All transfer decisions are made on a case-by-case basis depending on the ownership and the management's determination of whether it creates a net benefit for the club or not. The end.

    Alan Pardew

There's really nothing comparable about the two transfers. Vastly different circumstances and we're not even sure if Adam not moving was Blackpool turning down the offer or some paperwork falling through. Not that this is going to stop anyone from interpreting it to suit their needs, of course.
  23. This part is true. He's good at everything else though. As long as you're not relying on him to be your main goalscorer he'll net about one in three and help the team in ways too numerous to mention. Of course he can run, he's Korean man, where have you left your stereotypes! no i meant midfielders who can run fast/a lot and play football Chu-Young can run of course too i'd have Chu-Young as a secondary striker yeah for the reasons stated but it'd mean a change in style of play for us for him to succeed plus we'd need a guaranteed scorer with him as you say, which we won't get Papers saying that Bolton are after him for 6m to replace Elmander. Wouldn't be happy with two of my favorite players turning it out for them.
