  1. Who left the club with a better-than 1 in 3 record. I loved him when he was here but it's becoming increasingly clear in hindsight that he wasn't worth the 10 mil or the shirt.
  2. Good to know we're not the only ones with shit injury luck
  3. I think it's pretty safe to assume that the club is going to go out and find a 10m striker to "replace Carroll" and take over the number 9 just to get it out of the way. Of course, the last time we went No.9-shopping, we ended up with Martins.

    Steven Taylor

To be fair it's blatantly untrue to say he fucks up on a regular basis and there's a massive amount of over-reaction going on due to "decide everything based on the last match" syndrome. He's a perfectly serviceable average Premiership defender who'll have bad games sometimes and good game sometimes. Certainly good enough to be a squad player for Newcastle United.
  5. Lee Chung-Yong has dropped out of favor for Bolton since Sturridge came in and Elmander moved to the right. Come on, let's do this
  6. Whenever a player thread gets bumped all I can think of is "shit, not another injury!?"
  7. It's his right to have an opinion. It's our right to think that it's stupid.
  8. Absolutely not. That is not how Newcastle United does business.

Fucking Nigel De Jong. We'd probably be on course to finish comfortably in 6th~7th right now if he was fit all season. Having him back will be the true definition of "just like a new signing."
  10. A whiter, balder Olivier Bernard
  11. http://pokebeach.com/scans/base-set-2/117-super-potion.jpg God knows how many of these Ireland has been wasting.
  12. If you disagree with Ronaldo you're wrong. Always. End of conversation.
  13. I don't know which part is more creepy, the content of the post itself or the fact that Ronaldo typed a smiley face.

    Alan Pardew

Nothing to do with Pardew in specific, but I have to say I've always felt that this English fixation on the "super-manager" who has to do everything by himself is kind of weird.
  15. A Dirk Kuyt hat-trick justifies 25 goals in his favor.
  16. Very surprised that he got a new contract. Especially since Park's apparently not getting one. Strange. Always thought Fergie rates Park. When does his contract expire? I wouldn't mind him here. Summer 2012. I would think twice about having him here though. His knee is apparently on borrowed time and he has a maximum of three more years left as a footballer. That's why he's retired from international football at age 29 and I guess that's also why Man U don't want to give him another contract.

  18. Oh well, I'll take worrying about people leaving over having nobody that any team would want under any circumstance.
  19. Suarez's finishing has been by the way. Lad could've done us some favors with a few of those last summer in South Africa.
  20. Pretty annoying this. Liverpool probably has sixth locked up now. I suppose it makes the title race marginally more interesting.
  21. The players were demoralised after the sale so we've already suffered because of his loss and we have players questioning where the club is heading and whether we have any ambition. If we'd been able to bring him on yesterday instead of Shola we would have 3 points more than we have now because we had enough balls into the box for him to have made a difference. I think that's a very important point that the folks saying he wouldn't have played anyway keep overlooking. We'll never know what impact it has actually had on results but I can't see how anyone could claim it was anything but negative. It's debatable. We haven't lost any games due to lack of effort. If anything's demoralized the players it's the sudden propensity for everyone to keel over and crock themselves at every opportunity.
  22. But... Man U losing doesn't actually help us stay u... Never mind, why do I even bother with this argument.
  23. Why? You do realise we're still only 3 points behind this lot? I am more worried about Birmingham than Liverpool or Bolton, once we are safe I will look upwards. If Liverpool wins this there probably isn't going to be an "upwards" to look towards later.

    Alan Pardew

There aren't takers for enough of our players. With the current squad I think we 'need' four or five players. At least three need to be capable of slotting in immediately. "need" is a subjective term though. I agree that we need 10 players if our goal next season is the Champions League.
