Whoever wins the Luton/Mackems tie will be the ones promoted. Boro will bottle the final if it’s against Sunderland.

Dreadful 1st half. Bruno has got to be carrying an injury. Play like that 2nd half I can see us getting beat. They look capable of getting another goal.

Have we ever played Real Madrid?
Nah, but I'd love to get them in a game next season. The Bernabeu is the best stadium in the world IMO.

Not gonna lie, I've not really been fussed about actually being in the Champs League next season, it was just finishing in the top 4 to spite the other lot that has been so appealing to me this season. But watching the Man City v Real Madrid match this week really got me thinking how great it would be seeing us at the likes of the Bernabeu again. So it's going to be pretty gutting if we somehow blow it. Let's get the job done over the next 3 games, please.
-
I'm nervous about this one, since this lot are now something of an unknown quantity under Allardyce. The simple fact is though, just like the Everton game, these need to be dispatched tomorrow. No ifs, buts or excuses, and we need to be mentally ready for what is to come. No doubt that Allardyce will be instructing them to get under our skin in the hope that we lose our focus and/or have a man sent off, so we need to be properly prepared for the test.

Even if they finish last with zero points, I just don't want them anywhere near the Premier League. Hearing their name said on TV, reading about their existence, seeing those stripes etc.
Same. It's been great seeing them so utterly irrelevant in the lower leagues and I want that to continue. Unfortunately though this has a similar to feel to 1990 when they sneaked into the playoffs and then went up fortuitously through Swindon being banned from promotion. I can see the Mackems getting a similar level of luck in these play-offs through some similar kind of means.
If they come up it's a win-win for them, no matter if they come straight back down, as the TV money will rectify their dodgy financial position.

I'd much rather their season had collapsed before they play us.
I doubt it would make a difference. It will be a really tough game no matter what.

As much as I detest Everton, we want them to beat Brighton surely?
Nah, I'm not worried about Brighton. Their run in is far too difficult to catch us IMO.

What a rather shite weekend of association football.
Everton will win now, just to top it off.

Fair do’s, from watching it on the TV, it sounded the best I have heard it in a long time for that first 20 minutes. Tailed off after that but at least it never went quiet for this one.
-
Man Utd fans will be shitting it tonight but they will get 8 points from their final 4 games. We simply have to beat Leeds next week now or it’s really going to be touch and go for us.
-
Expressions is hilarious IMO.
Troopz, on the other hand, is a cockend of the highest magnitude.

In what reality does Brighton beating Man U mean it’s more likely that Liverpool win?? Howay man, the sheets are a dead giveaway. Are you kidding? Because if they beat Brentford they will be a point behind Man Utd. Which also puts extra pressure on us.
If you are super-confident that we will get to 72 points then crack on. But pressure and momentum are funny things. And there is also luck, which those Scouse rats always have in abundance.

They already had incentive
Magnified now though.

Bad news for the bed wetters but our squad are fully erect at home right now at the thought of finishing 3rd.
Not bed wetting per se, but that result just made it more likely that LFC will be 3 points behind us before our game on Sunday. I'd rather not have that extra pressure, thanks.

They still have Man City to play - when they lose that (and it is when) then the maximum they can get is 70 and that’s with arsenal to play as well.
They’re really not a problem
Was thinking more of the dippers tbh. Gives them real incentive to beat Brentford now.
-
I don't see how that is a good result for us. It keeps Brighton in touch with us and also gives Liverpool extra incentive to keep winning. Man Utd are not finishing outside of the top four either by the way. Their final four games are very winnable.

Bizarre time anyway. I'm still not fully shifted from the negative mentality change which the club has done so well to remove. I still don't fully believe, I'd still be on the boo box with the scorpions as Im not sure I'll ever shake the bad things ready to happen to us.
Same here. If you've been following the club for long enough then the last 18 months simply isn't enough time to wash away the doubt. The cup final defeat simply maintained the doubt for me, to be honest.

I'm not sure there's a non-NUFC player/ex-player I've ever liked more than Ian Wright, mind. Proper chad.
If there is one player I'd have liked to see in a B&W shirt it's Wrighty. He'd have been loved up here, and I think it would have been reciprocated. He's always been complimentary about us, from my memory.

The Scouse Mackems are gonna stay up again aren't they? The utter shitness of Forest & Leeds will save them.

As one of the whingers I've got to say
For half an hour in the 2nd half that was proper. Just tension and noise and support.
Fucking mint
Didn't watch it but that is great to hear. To be fair, adversity has always brought the best out of our support.

Feel very sorry for the lad. He has barely put a foot wrong since he got here but, if anything, is trying too hard. As long as he stays mentally strong, and doesn't let this frustrating start to his NUFC career get him down, it will all go well for him eventually ....but it will be next season now for him I think. People writing him off already need to have a word with themselves.
-
Huge three points that. The 1st half comments in this thread were an absolute shit show.

Been watching us since 90… funny we were talking about the Willock assist and whether it was the best ever in the last game… that right there is up there with the best assists I’ve ever seen, and not just for newcastle
I have been watching football since 1984 and I don’t think I have ever seen player do that in a game. The lad is simply sensational.

If we don't win on Thursday we won't do it. We will go to Stamford Bridge needing a win and that's not going to happen, under those circumstances. Everything resides on beating Brighton I'm afraid.
