  1. I think he would have broken through this season with out the injury. I've saw him in a few reserve games and he could often look a class above. He was strong in the tackle and able to play the ball out from the back rather than just hoofing it away.
  2. Exactly what I was talking about. The problem with Joe Kinnear is that I don't have much faith in him to bridge the divide. He could probably organise a good knees up though. FFS is it 1999 all over again? British players & foreign players forming cliques, a clueless manager & Sunderland the next home game. I'm starting to think that I might turn up to the Sunderland game to find that Ruud Gullit is stood in the dugout & has left Alan Shearer on the bench. There was murmurs during Allardyces reign about a divide including an incident during a training session involving Butt and Faye. Plus under Robson I remember watching a training session with Griffin and Robert having a scuffle after a late lunge by Griffin then Warren Barton dived in and tore them apart.
  3. he's a cb He can play full back aswell, versatility just what we could have done with.
  4. Given - Always likely to pull off match winning saves and has recently been catching or puncing crosses away which was one of his weaknesses a couple of seasons ago. 8 Harper - A steady replacement, but has made mistakes in the past. 7 Beye - Excellent tackling ability and can bring the ball forward. 8 Bassong - Strong and can read the game well. 7 Taylor - Brash and prone to errors, but alongside an accoplished player can do well. 6 Collocini - A good player, but struggles against those powerful target men or players with a quick turn of pace. 7 Enrique - He has potential, but lacks confidence. He is strong, but his passing lets him down. 6 Edgar - Championship standard. 4 Cacapa - A good player in his prime, but that was years ago. He came to our league too late. 5 Duff - Has lost some of his ability to take men on, but can be useful on occasions. 6 N'Zogbia - Looks like he wants out and is a decent player, but not as good as some would say. 6 Guthrie - An average player, who is not that creative, yet has to take on that role in our team due to our lack of creativity. 7 Butt - He lacks pace and his passing leaves a lot to be desired. 5 Gutierrez - A hard worker, who can beat his men easily, but stamina could be an issue. 7 Barton - Has not featured that often, but when he has improves our midfield greatly. 7 Geremi - He can be creative, but hasn't got the legs for the Premiership anymore. 5 Smith - Not played this seasn, but didn't not impress last season. He does not have a position, just fits in. 6 Viduka - Too injury prone, but quality control and hold up play. 6 Martins - He has pace and can finish, but lacks the mental ability at times. 8 Owen - A great goalscorer who would flourish in a side which created chance after chance. His time on Tyneside will not be fondly remembered by him. 8 Carroll - Has potential, but likely to mess it up. 6 Ameobi - Still living on the fact that he has a little ability which has got him by, but should have been shown the door last season. Now he has a contract I wonder if the performances will be the same as before? 6 Xisco - Plenty of running, just needs a chance before he can be assessed properly. 5 Kinnear - Becoming a joke. 4

    Kinnear Out

Would anyone take Wise over Kinnear? Although a large proportion of fans would be against it and it could be yet another disastor I can't see us doing anything better under Kinnear.
  6. Was the penalty a handball? I've just read Oliver People report before which said the officials had a good game. He still has his Shepherd sources too.
  7. Andy Carroll just signed a new contract not long ago didn't he? It says in The Sunday Sun he has been offered a new 5 year deal.
  8. N'Zogbia booed as well, he might as well leave and be replaced if we can get anyone in.
  9. Mamadou Sakho - I saw him play in the U17 Championships and he stood out a mile. The through googling him a year later I read that he was PSG captain at just 17/18. He is probably too good for us in our current state, but he has massive potential. A powerful header, danger from set pieces and ability to read the game as well as playing both left back and centre back. Thibault Bourgeois - In the same game as Sakho he was one of the best players on the park. He is currently at FC Metz (until 2010) who were relegated to Ligue 2 last season and scored on his debut. A midfielder who can deliver well from set pieces as well as possessing some pace and passing ability. Gökhan Töre - A Turkish/German player who appeared for Turkey (captained U17s) in the recent U17 Championships and was pivotal to a successful tournament. He is a left footed midfielder who is at Leverkusen. He has an excellent delivery of the ball and dribbling ability. Abdülkadir Kayalı - Another player who stood out, with his range of passing and tackling ability, in his defensive midfielder role during the tournament, but has attracted interest from Chelsea recently. Edit: After as quick search it turns out he has recently signed for Fenerbahce from Ankaragucu. Danijel Aleksić - Someone I have heard and read about for being prolific with the Serbian youth teams (has appeared for the full national side now). He is attracting interest from Partizan and Red Star. He plays for Vojvodina.
  10. In psychology one negative or destructive comment carries a weight of 10 positive comments. When we're booing our players over petty things like f***ing up corners, what do you think that's doing to them? When they show no f***ing spine or respect for the badge week in week out bar a few, what do you think that's doing for us? I'm f***ing sick of this talk as if footballers are these precious little flowers. They carry on with no worry of the problems that this country is under. Thousands of people are losing their jobs and these 'stars' are on an absolute wedge that is generated by US! These players may only have these wages due to the way the game has gone and are just a part of the way things are now, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't at least try to f***ing EARN it. Spot on They get away with far too much, i'd rather have an acadamy lad trying his heart out to some big money signing that's not pulling his weight The thing is though other fans would turn on that academy lad a lot quicker. On Wednesday night some guys were saying Lua Lua was shit after he lost the ball twice and had a wayward shot. Its not fair on the young players to put them in this situation.
  11. To think that we rallied behind Allardyce against Arsenal when the media kept getting on our backs, but when faced with relegation 'we' (not all Newcastle fans) would rather boo our own players. We could make the derby game our 'Arsenal of last season' for a roaring atmosphere.

    Kinnear Out

He can't lose what he never had.

    Kinnear Out

If Ashley does care about the club, as he has said in the past, he should sort this mess out now!

    Penalties

Did you remember all that? I remembered the decisions, but not the referees. I think Styles likes giving penalties against us.

    Penalties

Penalties Against: v Bolton (h) - A handball against Taylor. [bennett] v Arsenal (a) - A handball given against N'Zogbia. [styles] v Hull (h) - The Hull player dives over Nicky Butts challenge. [Marriner] v Everton (a) - A challenge by Butt gives away the penalty. [Webb] v Man City (h) - A perfectly timed challenge by Beye is deemed to be a dangerous tackle from behind. [styles] v Fulham (a) - Andy Johnson jumps over Collocinis outstretched leg after an initial push on Cacapa. [Atkinson] v Wigan (a) - A tussle before Heskey falls over in the box following 20 yards of contact prior to his fall. [Dean] v Liverpool (h) - Edgar challenge on Babel who tumbles over his leg, probably the correct decision. [Halsey] v Blackburn (a) - I haven't saw it yet, but judging by the reactions it seems a soft penalty. [styles]
  16. I should hope its just because Kinnear hasnt saw them, but you never know. You get the feeling that Kinnear doesn't really know what is going on and will end up with the players that Wise has found or have been suggested by Vetere.
  17. A bit of a flare up between Bassong and McShane, although Bassong was really going for him. There was a 'fight' between these two after the game aswell. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/article2137715.ece
  18. The game was very poor with lots of offsides for Hull and especially Cousin. Fagan is a a general dick who took a swipe at Owen after a Hull player was on the floor 'injured' and we hadn't put the ball out. The ref had a shitter, how did he failed to book that Hull player for bringing down Duff? Newcastle had the better of the chances (Owen header, Xisco from 6 yards in the first half, Guthrie off the cross bar, Xisco one on one which went just past the post) but a sucker punch as the Hull goal was terrible has left us out of the cup. I would say Jonas was the best player, but even then he didn't play that well.
  19. A bit of a flare up between Bassong and McShane, although Bassong was really going for him.

    Players in public

I saw them too although didn't recognise Lovenkrands at first. Oba kept popping his head out to chant of 'Obafem' each time too
  21. With Bassong to cover him I think Kadar will do well should he play. Edgar looks good at reserve level, but Kadar can actually pass the ball as well, which is one of Edgars downfalls.
  22. I'm disappointed I couldn't make the last one through work, but would have an interest in playing this time around. I would prefer the 3G.
  23. I didn't think he was that bad really. He covered well, even matching Bellamy for pace when they could have countered. His passing does leave a lot to be desired, but then again it was his pass that led to a goal. To criticize him for the first goal is harsh, as the midfield should have put a challenge in on Parker before he reached the 18 yard line and then Collocini was forced onto his weaker left side allowing Bellamy to nip in and score. I would rather keep Enrique and give him a chance as he is only 21, whereas Riise has shown what he can do already, but perhaps is already past his peak and on the slide downwards.
  24. Walker started today for Middlesbrough against Sunderland thus making his first team start for them. No idea how he played though, but with Digard picking up an injury he could feature in the next few games.
  25. I think it is pretty clear that man management and media skills are not Joe Kinnears strengths. He comes across as a clown during most interviews and just doesn't think it would seem. Firstly, Carroll will be starting the next two games, so Xisco has no chance of playing, but I thought Martins might not need the operation according to JK so he could be fit, but he does need one in a statement released by the club. Then he said a few weeks back that Given was the better keeper out of him and Harper (I would agree with that), but what if Given does leave? Harper will know that Kinnear doesn't have that much faith in him.
