Their jobs usually don't require interpretation and judgment based on subtly changing rules. Refereeing competence has been questioned in every sport since there were professional leagues. But honestly, people look for conspiracy under every rock when it is much more likely that we'll notice the incompetent performances, and completely forget about decent jobs.
