  1. Should have had a look into today's stage rather than just thinking that it's a flat one. The Bayern bet got it back, though. 50 € profit for the day stays.
  2. 25 € on Cavendish for today's stage. Returns only 75€, though. Edit: 25€ on Bayern to win (live bet) @2.00.

    Shola Ameobi

All the more credit to him for taking it on the day. Le Tissier was once asked for the secret to taking a good pen, and he said that too many players were worried about missing. He always had in his mind beforehand, a picture of the ball hitting the net, the cheering crowd, the congratulations from team mates etc Shola is one of nature's positive thinkers. With the amount of abuse he takes from fans, he ought to be the last one that would volunteer for a penalty. But he obviously sees it as an opportunity, not a risk. Not long ago, he was talking about getting a call-up to the England squad, and being Newcastle manager one day. We can all laugh, but there's nothing wrong with having an aim and being positive. On the pitch, he and the team can be having a terrible day, but he'll keep showing for the ball, and keep trying things. This season, we've seen him risk his long-term fitness by playing before a facial injury has fully recovered. I'm sure that in the past, he's turned out when only half-fit, in situations where other players might have ducked out. I would love it if his spirit is rewarded in the end by a really great moment, like the winning goal in a Cup Final. I do have a picture of an older Shola, standing on the touchline dressed in a suit, a hat on and and apple in his hand in my head now.
  4. He's quite versatile - can play on both wings, through the centre and if even as fullback. But I'd say fullback is the least position to play him.
  5. I wonder if he would have been away after relegation if some team had shown interest for him. I think he would.
  6. Happy to see Bolton having a worse shirt than ours. Very nice Marseille shirt that is.
  7. Hope he'll be our Nr. 1 next season and I hope that he'll be in goal for Holland at the next EURO.

  9. Who are you betting with? The prices on Betfair for the Giro are terrible. bet365 as always.
  10. 3 € on Di Luca to win today's stage. Returns around 100€.

    Players in public

    Aye, thought the same.
  12. I've put 70 € on Lena (Germany) to win the ESC again this year. Returns 840€.
  13. That's the date to book my next NCL trip then.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Not if we sign a player that wants the number as well. Than Ben Arfa would just keep his current number. Because that won't happen, he'll get the 10.
  15. No fucking way I'll put my money on Rosenborg again. Happy with my Man Utd-made win today.
  16. Was it yourself David that dabbles in a little betting on cycling? I seem to remember someone doing some throughout Le Tour last year. If so, looked at the Giro much? Yes it was me. Had some money on Radioshack to win the stage yesterday and came close. Will wait the first few stages and bet on my GC favourites then. On the flat stages the odds for Cav won't be accatable so I will leave it most of the time. Giro seems to be quite unpredictable in general which is why I'll wait till the Tour for the big bets (that and because there's still football on). Edit: For today btw, I've got little money on Petacchi to win the stage. Odds are good. 4.50€ returned around 30 €.
  17. Man Utd: Van der Sar; O'Shea, Vidic, Ferdinand, Fabio; Valencia, Carrick, Giggs, Park; Rooney, Hernandez. Subs: Kuszczak, Evans, Smalling, Nani, Anderson, Scholes, Berbatov. So much for Owen and his 'important goal' he'll score
  18. Fucking Arsenal! Really really need Man Utd to win later today of it'll be a disaster.
