  2. Hopefully Carroll will get another few goals to get top scorer of the league. Not only to win me my bet
  3. But Krul doesn't even play for the reserve team that much so how is he going to improve his game(not to mention his value) if he's not playing? Today's match would have been perfect for him It's the same problem all clubs have with good youngsters and it's even worse with young keepers. IMO the simple solution is to send him out on loan ala Forster in the summer and let Forster take the no2 spot. It's the least of our trouble TBF, we are blessed in this area. If we got a really good offer for Krul, i'd be tempted to let him go, due to the progression of Forster. Don't think we should let Krul go. TBF I haven't seen much of Forster but what I have seen and heard about Krul makes me think he'll could end up as an absulute world class goalkeeper and the next Van der Sar.
  4. Didn't read the post properly. Sry but watching 2 football matches and posting isn't so easy to do at the same time.
  5. Will surely leave during the summer if he's not getting games at all. Hughton's team selection kinda conflicts with this so called "our new youth policy", right? Don't think so. Krul said he already has had talks with Hughton and those talks were promising for him. (If I remember correctly)

Who cares as long as he's gone and his massive wage is off the bill I just want know if he plays another year or two who the "lucky" club will be to get him. Or if he'll end up as a coach here.

Butt confirms that he'll go now himself. Has it been confirmed where he will go? http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2010/04/24/nicky-butt-confirms-newcastle-united-exit-72703-26309736/
  9. Rooney out of the Man Utd squad for today's match. Rumour is that he has a groin problem that will keep him out till the end of the season. Hopefully not for the World Cup...
  10. Have my double of us(-1) and ManUtd going for the weekend. Probably as good as lost now after Rooney is not playing at all today.
  11. Haven't said that is the shirt. Just that nufcblog are saying it's the shirt. Not that I would believe much they're writing.
  12. Nufcblog saying those are the shirts: http://www.nufcblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/new-firtst-team-strip-400x400.jpg http://www.nufcblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/new-strip.jpg http://www.nufcblog.com/2010/04/23/newcastle-new-home-and-away-puma-strips/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+nufcblog+%28The+Newcastle+United+Blog%29

yes. Kinnear wanted to extend Butt's, Harper's and Owen's contracts. But Owen was a "different kettle of fish" or something like that. Looking back it's funny what we once had for a man in charge with Kinnear.

Officially his last match at SJP on Saturday. http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20100423/club-captain-butt-set-for-stjames-farewell_2240137_2032318
  15. According to wiki Piet Velthuizen has the number 1. So I suppose if he has the shirt he'll be their nr.1 keeper at the World Cup.
  16. Holland could have a great keeper - Tim Krul
  17. I think Netherlands should be able to go very far in this World Cup. They have a good team and both Robben and Sneijder are probably in the form of their lives. Don't think Germany will come really far this time tbh. 2002 they had Kahn who seemed to be able to save everything until the final and 2006 it was in Germany. Now we don't have a "world class" goalkeeper and the likes of Ballack and Klose who always did well at those tournaments are getting old and/or aren't in great form. And the fact that uncertainty is surrounding the future of Jogi Löw isn't great either. Think England will be better this time than in the last World Cups. Always good players - but I think this season the difference will be made by Cappello. And if Rooney will get into his great form again I think England could into the final.
  18. Hughton has a life-size portrait of Sir Bobby in his office. And what a huge TV he has as well. Easy to see why Hugthon's at his office 24/7. http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20100423/sir-bobbys-been-our-guardian-angel_2240137_2033029

You don't give that to "somebody for emotional reasons" I think. You give it to the captain - and Butt is the captain so he should rightly lift that trophy.
  20. Rooney's the same. Wearing gloves when nobody else does. Wearing a long shirt/undershirt when nobody else does. Rooney has a superstition that his goalscoring form this season is down to wearing gloves. He thinks they are also a part of the reason why he has scored a fair few headed goals lately, too. Have never heard about this before Will be interesting to see if he'll wear gloves at the World Cup, too.
