  1. Jogi Löw at the Chelsea - Stoke match. Good reason to watch a Premier League match for free - he had 2 german players to watch How did Huth and Ballack do for those who watched the match? http://cache1.asset-cache.net/xc/98658630.jpg?v=1&c=NewsMaker&k=2&d=77BFBA49EF878921A343B2C87A49D8F51C3CD46AF259C2F2B6034038714E2F5C855DC78315774F71
  2. Yeah, might be quite boring after Carroll got a hattrick there.
  3. I've never said that Owen would be a good penalty taker. I know some of them (Sunderland in 2008 for example) were close to getting saved. But they all ended up in goals somehow.
  4. This. My fears at the start of the season were that Butt would play almost every game like he did under Keegan, Kinnear and Shearer. Hughton has been the first manager to drop Butt despite him being fully fit (and this season even captain) since Big Sam. Big credit for Hughton on his handling in this situations. I think he was also the first one with the guts to drop Owen. Shearer then re-instated him for four games before dropping him again. Yeah right. Hughton dropped Owen for that Arsenal game. Oba missed the penalty there which Owen would have (probably) scored. Owen with his well known penalty prowess If he had been on the pitch, would he even have taken it? Owen has taken every penalty (when he was on the pitch) for us at least since being captain. And for the record - he hasn't missed one of them.

  6. Thought that as well. But on the other hand, how often would we have seen this formation? Owen, Viduka and Martins all three weren't available for the whole season. All three at the same time was rare.
  7. Oh. Forgot him. Out of my memories so quickly.

  10. This question came to my mind now. In 2008 with KK in charge, some on here (me as well) were dreaming about Europe or at least a top 8 finish in the Premier League. But which first XI is the better? The one we have now or the one we would have had with nobody injured in 08/09? Now: 2008/2009 Harper Given Simpson Taylor Coloccini Enrique Beye Taylor Bassong Enrique Routledge Nolan Guthrie Jonas Duff Butt Barton Jonas Carroll Lovenkrands Owen Martins (Viduka) Hope I posted the starting XI's the majority would have chosen. I somehow think that apart from Given vs. Harper and Simpson vs. Beye our current starting XI is the better one. I think that Enrique, Coloccini, Guthrie, Jonas and Carroll all improved over that year and that Lovenkrands has become better suited to english football as well. And if Routledge makes the step up to the PL he'll be way better than Duff ever has been in his time for us.

I do the same. I would have never sacked him. With him they probably would have still a chance of staying up now. It was obvious after last season and his spells before that Dowie would fail.

  13. Hopefully he'll become a world class player one day while playing at our club. I don't want to see him getting sold for let's say 4 million to Man Utd and then becoming a great player for them. In the media it would be all about Sir Alex "finding that great player". The same goes for the other young players like Krul and Kadar as well. They have to stay here. I'd rather see some "senior" players leave and us taking a risk on the young guns.

  17. Great pic. Look at Ryan Taylor once again. "Are we relegated?"
  18. Yep. 20th place in the Premier League would be done than.
  19. More great pics still to come: http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/03Hffb12A3dV6/610x.jpg
  20. No chance I think. Have to wait for co.uk to put some up to download as wallpaper. Would be great if they did.
  21. OMG Butt has a son!! He's nailed on to be our future captain http://cache2.asset-cache.net/xc/98647273.jpg?v=1&c=NewsMaker&k=2&d=77BFBA49EF878921A343B2C87A49D8F5E4856DBF4F3392BC330D49A2977A047ADAA43CC8DF997DDC

  23. Really hope Schalke will win it. Knowing their luck I know they won't. aye Schalke have terrible luck. Would not be surprised if the title is decided on goal difference on the last day with Schalke missing out again yep. But expect Schalke to "have" the title until Bayern win their match due to a 95th min. winner of Robben.
